Here is a master list of arguments in the ace discourse over the years against the notion that cishet ace/aro people are members of the LGBT community, because they are cis and straight. Furthermore why calling asexuality an oppression (while not denying the existence of prejudice against asexual people and the need for their own community) leads to very homophobic and transphobic understanding of what it means to be LGBT. I have been involved in “the discourse” for over five years, making arguments of my own and promoting others on this blog. But now it is time for me to move on and leave this masterpost as the culmination of this blog’s purpose.

Some of these posts are mine but for the most part this is the product of a lot of other people’s work: their words, their thoughts, their experiences and their research all compiled into one place to help people understand the ace discourse and to track its record of ahistory and blatant homophobia and transphobia. I have made sure to use links on my blog so they don’t get lost in any name changes or deletion, but I do not take any credit for their posts and content. So thank you to everyone who contributed to the discourse, and ultimately this post. I hope this will be great resource for discoursers young and old and help people form their own arguments and to help young LGBT people from falling into the trap of denying their sexuality because of the homophobic and transphobic rhetoric of the Ace Community.

Corrective Rape

The term “corrective rape” has been appropriated from a very specific homophobic hate crime in South Africa to mean any kind of rape that punishes the victim.

The UN updated it’s terminology guidelines to refer to it as homophobic rape to “note the deep-seated homophobia that motivates the hate crime”

Our society will never adapt to neo-pronouns, especially nounpronouns. I’m sorry to break this to you but no stranger will ever call you fae/faer/faers. No matter how hard you try and no matter how respectful your SJW friends might be, you are in the minority. Most people will never put so much effort into using a set of pointless, fairy-themed pronouns.

You know why? Because pronouns are meant to make the communication EASIER. Pronouns are not a tool for you to validate your identity. In everyday life, we use he/him pronouns for men (or masculine presenting people, if we meet them for the first time and assume their gender), she/her pronouns for women (or feminine presenting people if we meet them for the first time and assume their gender) and they/them for people whose gender we don’t know (hence so many non-binaries use this pronoun).

Nounpronouns are bad because people who use them don’t know how gender works. There are only two genders and a lack of gender. There is no faegender or bungender, so there is no faepronouns or bunpronouns.

You can’t just decide that you like fairies or cars or buns and put that into your gender. INTERESTS =/= GENDER. Again, pronouns are meant to make communication EASIER not HARDER. They are not meant to be aesthetic or cool or cute. They are only there so that we can adress people with less effort.

One way to find out whether a tool is good or not is to see if our society adapts to it naturally. If it’s a good, useful tool our society will use it without any enforcement from third parties. When you have to use anger and laws to make others use it, this is the moment you know that the tool is not good.

Let's start of with lesbians

Now on to gay men

. The term gay has been taken up the the community. I'd like to apologise to gay men as I used to say that "I'm gay" rather than my actual sexuality.

. The rainbow flag was taken up by the community too. It originally used to be for gay men, now it belongs to the community, so they had to make a new flag

. Often fetishised by yaoi fangirls and birches who want a "gay besfriend"

. Seen as sinful and are blamed for the spread of aids

Now onto bisexuals

. Some people think only girls can be bi (to all you bi boys, you're amazing and deserve just as much attention as bi girls)

. Biphobia is being normalised by micro labels and stereotypes

. People assume you're horny 24/7 or want a threesome

. People think you're transphobic/not inclusive

And finally trans people

. Tucutes and mogai people speak over you

. People think you're attention seeking or a predator

. People assume nb people are slow

. "I'm an attack helicopter"

Not to mention co-opting the 'bootlicker' meme to fit your ridiculous exclusionist agenda rather than what it was originally used for (to mock the american way of being a corporate/military nationalist shill who licks the heel of the corrupt military complex in the climate of minorities being shot in the street and poor kids being coaxed and brainwashed into joining the military while brainwashed racist white people defend it) is in the poorest fucking taste.
