School? There was a blink before the girl shifted back. “Ah, you’re right, I am not from around here but why should that matter…?”

A small doll with black button eyes is resting upon the girl's pillow when she returns to her bedroom. The doll looks just like her in every aspect.
"Hmm?" Emmaline had just returned from a day of school, ready to flop down on her bed and relax for a while when she noticed the new addition. She picked up the doll, turning it around and observing it, noticing the similarities right down to the school uniform she was wearing that day. Someone must have made it in her likeness. But no one in her family was crafty enough, so who? "Where did this come from?"
”Two actually.” The newer one was a recent relocation, but…Ah details, details. “Think of…Think of a never ending battle field, but then there’s peace.”

"So it's...actually two different worlds?" Emmaline asked, not certain she was following his explanation. She did follow that there seemed to be a lot of fighting there, at least, which made her frown. She'd never had to live through war, but she'd been told a lot about it and would not wish it on anyone. "That sounds kind of sad. But if people are helping each other, then I guess it's good too."
The Archangel smiled before laughing. “Where I’m from? It doesn’t really have a name. We call it the Digital World although.”
"You're from another world then?" If the girl did not seem particularly surprised by this information, it was because she was not in the least. She herself had parents who came from two very separate worlds, after all, so it was a concept she had long since gotten used to. "Hmm, I've never heard of the Digital World before though. What is it like?"

"Happy father's day to all of the dads! I hope my dad has a good one...I'll have to think of something really special to do for him."
Rose ran a hand through her child’s hair while keeping her other arm wrapped tightly around Emmaline. She doubted that she would ever let the girl go after what had happened. It had been months since she had last seen her darling little girl, and she and Malik had been so frightened for her safety. They had never stopped looking.
"Shh." Rose whispered. "Mama’s here. Mama’s got you." It broke Rose’s heart to see her daughter in such a state. She had been so strong before, and at the age of fifteen, Emmaline appeared as if nothing could even phase her, like her mother. Oh how she was wrong. The fact that her daughter was shaking in her arms was nerve wracking, and Rose wondered what had happened. What had shocked Emmaline so much that she would crumple like a cloth doll into her mother’s embrace, but the dark warrior knew better than to ask now. She knew all too well that it would be quite some time before Emmaline would be willing to talk about what had happened in this room.
She placed a kiss atop her daughter’s head, rubbing the spot afterwards. “It’s alright now.” Rose cooed. “I’ll never let them touch you again.” Her voice was barely a whisper as tears fell from her face. “I’m here now, don’t worry.”
Each reassuring word from her mother, each touch, made her a little more certain that it was real, that she would really be free of this place. Finally, she began to cry as well, choking sobs, but the tears that rolled down her face were as much from relief as they were from fear or sadness.
How many times had she dreamed that her parents had come to her rescue and swept her away? But this time it was not a dream.
Her face still buried up against her mother, she nodded. She was clinging to Rose as tightly as she could, as if letting her go meant she would no longer be there with her. "I...wanna go home."

Rose kicked down a wooden door, a worried and frightened look upon her face. Behind her was a pile of what can be safely assumed to be dead bodies. “Emmaline?” Came her worried cry as she looked around the dark room.
In a corner, only illuminated by a shred of light from the open door, was a chair with Rose’s darling daughter strapped to it. Gasping, the blood stained warrior rushed to the child, cutting her free from her bonds and holding the child tightly. “Emmaline my precious child.” She whispered, tears dropping onto the girl’s head.
"I’m so sorry." She managed between tears. "I’m sorry for not finding you sooner."
Emmaline had curled up on herself in the chair as much as her binds would allow. For so long now she had been poked and prodded, hurt and pushed to her limit, kept locked up the dark away from her family. She had lost count of the days. But the opening of the door to the room where she was being held only ever signaled more of the worst, so even as she heard it hit the floor with a clatter she shrunk up even smaller, burying her face.
The voice calling her name was unexpected, soothing and familiar although she was so out of sorts that reality did not set in right away. Even as she was being cut free she did not understand, until suddenly she was being held tightly by her mother. It crashed over her, filling her every thought and feeling with a single sense. Safety.
Her entire weight collapsed into the embrace. She was shaking, still not entirely sure if it was even real, but immensely relieved regardless. She could barely find her voice. "M-mama."

"Your… father?" That made Richard pause, the nineteen-year old blinking in an expression little short of shocked. This girl was the Captain’s daughter? She did not look that much younger than he. Then he supposed that he knew truly little of Malik’s past, particularly the years he served in Fendel prior to coming to Windor. Though it did not seem like him to have abandoned his family to flee. Had he been unaware he had a daughter?
"My apologies, he never mentioned to me that he had a daughter or any family of his own yet, though that is quite unlike him to do so." Richard shook his head trying to clear any residual surprise from the expression on his face. "Forgive me for my rudeness, it’s a pleasure to meet you Miss Emmaline."
Though it still did not explain her familiarity with him… or why she expected him to know her upon their first meeting.
"It's ok. But...I've actually met you before. Lots of times." King Richard was practically like family to her, all of her father's friends were. Like aunts and uncles. She'd known them as long as she could remember. "I think it must have been a different you, though."
Either that, or he'd taken quite the hit to the head. But she was certain she was right in her assumption. There were too many things that felt plain off about their meeting today. She'd been back and forth from Ephinea and Endiness most of her life as well, so the concept wasn't difficult for her to believe. She just wasn't really sure how it had happened.
"So, I guess it's nice to meet you, too!" She answered with a smile, even though she was still somewhat unsure of the entire situation.

"No, I’m afraid not…" The young king instantly felt bad, it was clear that not only did this girl know him, but she appeared hurt that he did not. Yet no matter how hard he tried to recall, he could not place her face. She was too young to be among his suitors, and he could think of no other means by which he would know a young lady such as she.
"Caesar?" Richard repeated, a bit surprised to hear the name. "Do you know one by the name of Malik Caesar then?" While it made the situation a bit clearer, Richard could not recall the Captain speaking at any length about his family, much less having introduced them.
If she hadn't been certain something was off before, she didn't need anymore clues now. If nothing else, Richard should have recognized her connection to her father. It was...not comforting, necessarily, but it was still somehow good to know it wasn't simply a case of him not recognizing her.
If only she could make sense of what was actually going on.
"Yes. Malik Caesar is my father." Maybe this was another world, like how Ephinea and Endiness were two separate worlds? But then, why would there be another King Richard?
The girl who approached him did so with a familiarity that was uncommon. Younger children tended to ignore the formalities his crown entailed but those her age often kept a greater distance, so her warm approach was already unusual.
"Good day," he returned the greeting, blinking a bit confusedly. Again? No matter how he searched his memory he could find no image of this girl. “Forgive my ignorance, but have we met before?”
"You don’t remember?" It was strange. She had known her father’s friend as long as she could remember, so certainly he should recognize her. There was a small pang of hurt, the slightest hint of an upset tone in her voice, but she suspected there was more to it than him simply forgetting. He didn’t quite look like the King Richard she remembered either. She wasn’t sure whether an introduction would help or not, but she tried anyway, "I’m Emmaline. Emmaline Caesar?"
