       arent they like this giant loser meme why on earth would i wanna talk about them lame 0/10 they arent even on that blog atm & got too fed up w/ that stupid desert in the game to finish it last time they played

       nah lets talk about this particular katie instead. such a wonderful rose & amazing depth & dedication to this character despite lod fandom being…. like nonexistant at this point. i know its difficult playing a character from not so well known media & that she kept it up for so long & so well is really amazing!! katie’s such an inspiration, not only in how long rose has been around, but also to know when to put rp aside to study & focus on other things instead & idk ive known katie long enough to just be really proud of her going to uni & getting things done

   All that broke the heavy silence was the clatter of china as he placed a cup of tea before the seated warrior. Delicate and small, the crockery was as ornate in its design as the surroundings were, painted swirls ‘pon its ridges reminiscent of waves. Slow deliberate moves took him opposite the dragoon, arranging himself to sit ‘pon adjacent couch. Legs crossed, hands ‘pon knees and back straight as he peered over plates and table, of those small welcomings the wealthy included in meetings. Tea, sugar, small pastries were all present and assembled, ‘midst the high society locale. 

Ran was also a very uninhibited drunk, or so it appeared to Rose. The more she drank, the less reserved she became… and the more overt her behavior. Nothing too seriously, fortunately; Ran wasn’t the type to randomly hit on women or pick a fight with someone. But she stopped being quite so circumspect about staring at some of the prettier women at the bar, occasionally mumbling things under her breath like ‘she’s so cute’.

And inevitably, whenever it seemed like Rose had overheard her, Ran would flush, look away, and get this guilty expression. After the third time, she finally sighed and swirled the ice in her drink (her fourth? fifth lime chuhai? Ran had certainly lost count) before setting it back down on the table.

Her little blushes whenever she noticed Rose had been observing her behavior were so cute, and Rose wanted nothing more than to tell her that she had nothing to feel embarrassed about. That is, until Ran finally spoke up.

“Oh no, Ran it’s completely alright. You seem to be having a fun time, and I didn’t want to ruin that. I’m perfectly content to sit and drink.” Especially since she could afford to do so for a long time. “I’m American actually. I’m out here traveling for work.” As a teacher, she had many opportunities to see the world to enrich what she taught in the classroom.

But none of that mattered now and he was in no position to complain. A grin broke out across his lips, highlighting just how pleased he was to see her. What? He couldn’t help it. This woman had been so god damned important to him… She offered him an amount of stability that he couldn’t even offer himself.

“I never wanted to be rid of you at all,” he pointed out. “I was just confused and worried because it wasn’t like you to just disappear.” A small part of him insisted that he should be angry at her for just up and leaving without a single word. If she had been someone else, he might have been fuming, but he just couldn’t find it within himself to do so. All he felt was happiness.

“I did not want to disappear.” Her happy demeanor faltered, suddenly realizing that she hadn’t even told him that she was going away. “I was needed elsewhere for a time...” I am not my own person. She wanted to just tell him everything, of how she was implemented as a weapon in Soa’s name, of how she was forced to use her blade against people just following orders, knowing fully that they’d be trapped in the hell that is Mayfil for eternity with no hope of escape like Lavitz had.

“I had to pay a portion of my debt is all. I’m sad to say it took me longer than expected, but it’s a year closer to being free of what I owe.” A disappointingly small portion of her debt, but a portion nevertheless. She had eleven thousand years to repay, and though his system of repayment worked in her favor- certain tasks were worth more than others, but never less than a year- it was still going to take centuries for her to earn her soul back.

   The look directed towards the dark dragoon couldn’t possibly be anymore deadpanned. His lips were pressed thin and tight in disapproval of words and humor, tying off the top of his suit ‘round his waist, coat having been placed aside with care. Arms were crossed, fingers tapping ‘gainst newly revealed muscle and paler skin in annoyance. 

“Oh but you did it so proudly, with such an overstated flourish too.” Hubert’s look of annoyance was too much for her, so the smile that threatened to appear earlier broke out into a full on grin. “If you weren’t showing off, what were you doing?” She dared not suggest that he had a night job requiring such flourishes, but Soa did she want to.
