i just finsihed reading jthm and bro its SO good. like beyond the absurdity and disgustingness and gore and edginess its lowk beautiful and so heartful and thoughtful and philosophical ykwim... sigh jhonen vasquez is so cool....

im ngl i read like 2 volumes like. 2 years ago. but i kinda gave up after that because of how DIFFICULT IT IS TO READ THE FONT LMAO but then i locked in these past few days cuz i really really really really really wanted to read it and it worked! thats all and yeah i really really love this comic its just so good..

anyways yeah so heres some stuff i drew while watching the comic dub hyeheh. fire ass dub btw!!! i would read thru 1 volume then watch the yt video because it was very enjoyable that way (and it made it easier to process the long ass monologues vruh) trust i will be talking about jthm more be aware

my first time reading the nge manga and OH my days bruh. it is SO good ive read almost 30 chapters now in like 2 hours. i genuinely never read manga/webcomics/etc cuz i cant get into them, not even jojos bro but ts is ADDICTICTINNGGG WTTTFFFF

i would say the anime doesnt do it justice but it does at the same time😭😭 holy shit i love evangelion why didnt i read the manga sooner shinji (and literally every character) has SM MORE DEPTH THAN HE ALR DOES or at least they make it more explicit SAME W THE LORE

SO i cooked up the story/chr designs for these guys back in january and was super obsessed w them for like a WEEK before i discovered baroque and instantly became obsessed with THAT instead and completely disregarded my fellas until now.

(also. i realize that their lore could be taken as highly controversial since they are so blatantly based on a certain religion so i have been very hesitant on sharing for a while. I apologize if insensitive but i used to be very very very religious myself of my own accord......SO IM NOT SAYING I HAVE THE RIGHT TO CREATE SHI LIKE THIS BUT I KINDA AM IDK SORRY)

anyways!! general gist: little soldier boy Parcell, who died tragically in ww1, is chosen by God to be the "saviour of the world" (really, God just wants to see if humanity is worth saving at all, because the world has come to complete shit). after 500 years of suffering in the afterlife Parcell is STOKED and absoluteeely honoured and grateful for this second chance at life!!!!!! and very naively determined to do this big job!!!!he has no knowledge of the current state of the world btw!!! so he is revived and literally digs out of his own grave and finds out that society is completely unrecognizable from what he remembers in the 1910s, and that the earth now is no better than hell itself LMAOOOOO

idk in my old notes i made a placeholder title for the story called totalabsotopia cuz i thought it was interestingly funny and obvious for the world (totalitarianism + absolution (catholic sacrament) + dystopia) so ill js call it that til i think of something more auraful. but if this ever becomes a cool awesome thing.... just know its supposed to be a comical satire ridiculous invader zim kinda thing hehehehehehaw. but for now they will just marinate in my head privately

but anyways ommgggggg bruh. codeys design is 100% ripped right off from olive because i really liked her design/story but i was genuinely too lazy to develop the story so i abandoned her and the siren 😔😔😔

ok so FOR THE RECORD: if i remember right (cuz i didnt write any lore down bruh) the basic story is that theres this female naval engineer who plays a major role in the development of military submarines/vessels and she is absolutely cracked at what she does . but because ts takes place in like the 1920s-30s its tough for a girl to pursue tthat kinda shet. so she js adapts a male identity so she's taken seriously. SO the big thing going on in her time is that a bunch of military vessels have been disappearing in the sea, and ppl believe its some issue with the subs themselves. eventually olive is sent on a mission w the army to monitor progress/issues to figure out where/why ships are disappearing....... and she finds out that theres nothing wrong with the ships and its actually because theres this crazy siren monster thing that lures men and eats them!!!! she becomes the sole survivor of the attack because. as a non actual man. shes immune to the powers of a siren. and shes genuinely the only girl ever to be present on the ship. the siren is very intrigued by this and tries very hard to figure out why this is. siren really REALLY hates oliver/olive at first because she hates men ❤️‍🩹

i read Service Model by adrian tchaikovsky and it is the funniest book ive ever read. i dont like reading too often but i genuinely read it twice now . i love this book sm sm sm sm sm sm sm sm sm SM sm sm. SM
