“You don’t call, text or write one might think you are mad at your little brother.” Benji laughed slightly. “But I know it’s a two way street and I do apologize. I’ve been busy.” 

“What on earth would I have to be mad about?” Braden’s tone was light and playful, but internally he was quick to note one thing he could be mad at. “Yeah, I’m sorry too. Been doing a lot of overtime at the station. How’ve you been?”

Felicity shook her head. “Nope.” She shrugged, looking at him as she gathered that it seemed to be something that was quite normal. Great. Something else. “With you? Yeah, okay.” She nodded, offering him a smile, though she had no idea what movies you could see. At his question she nodded again, her smile brightening just a little. “I’ve seen Peter Pan! It’s my favourite movie and it’s my favourite book too.” Felicity said. It had been one of the only things she’d been allowed access to growing up. “And Benjamin showed me Batman. I didn’t really get that one but he likes it a lot.”

“Yeah, with me.” Braden smiled at her before turning his attention to the screens displaying the movies. “Hmm...” It probably wasn’t smart to take her to see a horror or thriller. Not for a while, at least. “Peter Pan, huh? What about Onward? I think it’s about elves who try to use a spell to see their dead dad? I think it’s supposed to be less sad than it sounds.”

“Hmm…” She hummed, acting very disappointed before she chuckled a little at his next question. “I guess I’ll leave that for you to decide.”

“I’ll see if I’m capable of not drinking until I finish my shift before I answer that.” He laughed. “So come on. You got any juicy town gossip for one of the newest officers?”

“Um.” She shrugged, looking around and eyeing the screens and the counters. “It’s… I don’t know.” She said, turning back to look at him. “I’ve never seen a film in a cinema. I don’t know what they have.”

“You haven’t?” After everything she had been through, that probably shouldn’t have come as a surprise to Braden, but he couldn’t wrap his head around the idea of someone having never been to the cinema before. “Huh... Do you want to see something with me?” He suggested with a shrug, “Have you seen any movies?”

“Me neither but I should probably start. I could have saved myself a lot of shit over the years but no one ever said you could teach an old dog new tricks. Or… They did? I don’t know.” He shrugged the metaphor off before looking up at the sign. “Sounds great, mate. Genius. Can I, uh, give you an I.O.U?” 

It was really good to see his brother, he had to admit that he missed him as well. And he was glad to see Braden in town, and the fact that he had moved here. “Maybe a little bit. But we should go and see it anyways. I mean it’s been forever since we hung out.”

Braden laughed, nudging his brother as he made is way to the ticket machine. “Seat preference?” He always preferred to be further back, but he couldn’t remember if Benji liked being closer to the screen. “Amazing they even play horrors and thrillers in this town. So come on, fill me in on your life. Like you said, it’s been forever.”
