note that it works best with thin lineart (I used SAI2 for this, but I think you can use any art program with a overlay layer mode)

So - my friend showed me that Final Fantasy online video of the little guy with his hands stuck in the air. And that upbeat vocal song starts playing? The weird MMO bug of your arms not moving happened to me on a stream so I wanted to add my character to the montage.

Have you gotten to reference layers yet because OMG.

Here’s what I’m trying to say in gif form. I rambled insanely.
The blue layer is set to reference.
Then you can do this.
And this.

Hey! I've seen you use a brush a few times in your streams that makes 'hollow' lines, what on earth is it? It looks so useful, It's been driving me crazy!
Sorry it took so long to get to this, Anon!
Basically this all came about because I am LAZY and will find shortcuts for EVERYTHING if I can. Like detail work.
HOLLOW LINES: For when you wanna look like you put effort into your details without actually putting the effort in:
So the way I get the “hollow” lines in Clip Studio/Manga Studio is with the “border effect” tool! (A similar effect can be used in Photoshop by using “outer glow” if you play with the settings!)
It’ll be found to the far right, just above “Layers” (or at least it is for me!)
That lil circle-sucker right there.
You can change the thickness of the outline and even the color of it!
For this, my “edge color” is black. You can then just scribble whatever you want, color it however you want, etc etc.
I often use it for super quick detail work. LOTS OF SWIRLS!
I hope that helps!
EDIT (for you Photoshop people!):
Thank you, @badaxefamily!
@nathanielgraves @afniel
Heck yes, I love doing this. It’s like instant detail gratification. ♥

So so excited to be a part of the THEN/NOW: Childhood Revisited Kickstarter that just launched! The book is a compilation of artists redrawing a couple of their childhood drawings - I, predictably, still draw a lot of boston terriers and historical figures several decades later.

QUICK LITTKE TUTORIAL FOR YOU: darts edition 🌟 I just recently figured this out, I’m sure it’s one of those things that’s common knowledge and I probably should have known about it forever ago, but it’ll still probably help some of you out there. Anyways, here’s step by step according to the pictures
1. Say you wanna put a dart right here in a leg (works with any piece) 2. Cut out the piece in question 3. Draw a line perpendicular to the dart line that cuts across the whole piece like so 4. Cut along the T lines ALMOST to the edge so the two pieces are hanging on by a little piece of paper 5. Pull the two pieces out like so. The further you pull them out the more pronounced the dart will be (those pieces of tape are just there because my fingers were busy taking pictures) 6. Tape that little diamond hole closed 7. Flip it over and tape the other side so it’s not sticky Cut out a point to your dart if the tape has created a blunt edge 8. Voila! Fits like a glove
I was looking for this post a while ago to share, I love it!!!
