This post will me comparing the parallels between rowan and lyria and elucien and their mating bonds . this will contain throne of glass spoilers so if you have not read the books please scroll away.

Rowan and lyria’s story is something that was tragic but the way they met was the most interesting part and is very similar to Elain and Lucien. Rowan and lyria met at a the market where he instantly knew they were mates. Rowan had felt the bond the moment he laid eyes on her and that was exactly how to it was for Lucien. After the cauldron had turned Elain into Fae Lucien looked at her face instantly knew they were mates.

Now with lyria and Elain they are very similar and Sjm had used the same exact words to describe them . It was stated how lyria sold flowers at the market and Elain Also garden and plants flowers but the parallels between the two of them are outstanding and sjm did this intentionally. Lyria is described as kind and quiet “she has been gentle,and sweet, and quiet,and a kind. A different sort of strength”. Elain is always described as kind and gentle, and light, even feyre herself had said Elain had been the strongest out of all of us but sjm used the same exact words for Elain and lyria. With Rowan and Lucien using similar words to describe their mating bond with lyria and Rowan. With Lucien it was a constant struggle with the mating and he usually speaks of the mating bond with Elain in a negative way. In chapter 24 of acowar Lucien describes jesminda and compares her to Elain but the words he used we’re very interesting. Lucien says “ she had chosen him, Elain had been thrown at him” also uses similar words and says “but not what he had chosen for himself”. There also a quote in acosf where Lucien says “ I’m not always in the city to see my mate.The last two words dripped with discomfort”. With the mating bond both Rowan and Lucien felt a tug on the bond, Maeve had made Rowan feel the tug on the bond and Lucien had felt it with Elain. “ there’s a bond- it’s s real thread”, “ it was easy to tug on the right physical thread they day Rowan saw lyria”. Rowan also talked about how difficult it was to court lyria and it was the same with Lucien and he even said to feyre “ I can’t stand to be in the same room as her”, I don’t want to be shackled to her”. The bond used negatively when it is described with lyria and Elain and it is very different from the way feysand, Nessian, and Rowaelins bonds were described ,and it’s also interesting that all of sjm main couples that were mates fell in love before they found out about the bond and it was not like that with Rowan and Lucien.

Now I’m going to get into Maeve and the cauldron and how they are similar. With the cauldron we know how is powerful and it is and how it created the acotar universe and with Maeve we were aware of how powerful she was and she was able to fake the bond between Rowan and lyria without anyone knowing. It was also mentioned how much the caldron loved Elain and how it gifted her with powers because of how lovely she was , and we know how it purred in her presence. Since Maeve was able to fake a mating bond it’s possible that the caldron did the same thing. In acowar right before We found out Elain was a seer madja said only can a mate can find out what’s wrong and how it’s a brige between two souls and feyre later described the truth teller that Az gave Elain as a brige between them and she imagined a painting of it. Don’t you think that’s it’s odd Elain’s mate couldn’t find out what was going on with her but that Az did and how madja said the mating bond is a bridge between two souls but Lucien said it was just a thread? Lucien is a fae and he grew up with knowing how the mating bond works and knows it’s importance and history but he did not know what was going on with Elain but Az did. There also a conversation Rhys and feyre had about About Az and Elain potentially being mates and Rhys talk about how the mating is not a love match and is based on who you can reproduce better with and he brings up his parents and tamlins parents and their failed relationship and how they were wrong for each other.with Maeve faking the mating bond and Az being almost dead when Elain was turned far, and Lucien becoming her mate it’s a big possibility that Lucien is Elain’s fake mate and that Az could potentially be her real mate. The parallels from tog and acotar and sjm confirming that having two mates is possible and her not confirming it or denying when Steph brought up the two mates thing it is 100% possible. “ the cauldron purred in Elain’s presence”, “ Elain’s eyes brows twitched towards each other. The queen with the features of flame. The shadowsinger angled his head. Lucien muttered to me, eyes still fixed on Elain, should we -does she need?she doesn’t need anything Azriel answered without so much as looking at Lucien. I’m still seeing people say Elain is leaving the night court but sarah told us the opposite with this quote.

She declared herself a member of the court which means she is apart of the night court wether you like it or not. Cassian’s opinion against Elain’s word shouldn’t hold more value.

Velaris and the night court both smell like jasmine and honey. Elain’s scent is jasmine and honey .

Elain has a home in velaris/ night court and she’s content there .

Sarah also said this in her india live.

She mentions Rhys and feyre and their court. Well Elain in acosf just declared herself a member of the night court. And it sounds like from the way sarah is talking that the next book will be night court centric. This confirms that Elain isn’t leaving the night court and it also sounds like sarah is talking about acotar 5 conflict which is Elain’s book.

Sarah also said that feysand will be featured heavily in the next upcoming novels and Elain is connected to both of them, so is Az(more Elriel confirmation). the sun and flowers are not good enough reasons for Elain to go the spring court. There’s sun In velaris and she has gardens in velaris . Her sisters live there , her best friends Nual and Cerridwen live there (love the twins), her love interest Azriel lives there . There’s no reason for her to live in the spring court when she has everything she needs in velaris and the night court. She knows no one in the spring court and she has nothing to do there . Why would she be around her sisters abusive ex too ? Elain would never be around Tamlin.

I also wanted to ask because I saw yazthebookish made a post about your reaction instead of reaching out to to you and asking you directly which was extremely immature and only led to more hostility towards elriels being stirred. The comments from the user and others in that post are harsh and negative and serve no purpose but to put elriels down. They are not interested in having an actual conversation, just bashing everyone right off the bat and THAT is what is wrong with this fandom right now.

With that said, I hope you don’t find it rude that I am asking. I’m just genuinely curious to hear more about this topic as I agree that no one should be trying to take anything away from elain and give it to gwyn (or vice versa). They are they’re own people and from what we’ve seen so far, they are pretty different from each other so it makes no sense to want to give aspects of their lives to each other.

I have seen it on multiple social media platforms of people giving the things that Elain has to Gwyn like on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tumbler .

On TikTok, I have seen people say Gwyn is really Nesta’s sister and feyre and Gwyn will be sisters .they’d say Elain isn’t sisters with Nesta or feyre . I’ve seen people say Gwyn called Az’s scars beautiful when In fact Elain did that .

On tumbler, many people have made posts dismissing or Elain’s friendship with Nuala and Cerridwen. They have said that Gwyn will be friends with the twins and went into details on how their friendship would be . I’ve also seen people say Gwyn would spy with Az and the twins when acosf foreshadowed Elain being a spy .

On Instagram, I’ve seen many fanats with Gwyn having the truth teller which Elain was given. I’ve seen multiple fanarts of Gwyn wearing Elain’s necklace . I’ve seen people on there say Gwynriel is gonna hide their relationship and sneak off to the garden when that’s Elriel’s thing.

On Twitter, I have seen people say Gwyn is gonna bond with nyx and she’ll babysit it and end up being her nephew because she’s Nesta’s sisters. On Facebook, you’ll see similar posts that I listed above. You’ll see this on all social media especially the one’s that are anti Elain.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of what I’ve see . There are so many more posts and comments like this that you’ll see on multiple social media apps. I am not the only one who has seen this and my fellow Elriel’s have also seen this and made responses to Elain’s things being given to Gwyn.

As for the second part of your Anon , I would’ve preferred for that person to message me privately instead of making a response to my post that had negative comments. It’s also weird because I blocked them a while back so I’m wondering how they saw my post. I would have a conversation with them but as you said they are not willing to which is fine . All of these belong to Elain and not Gwyn so stop trying to give it to her . You need to stop replacing her and erasing her , it’s not going to happen and she’s important to so many people including Az would would and has risk his life for her. They are all her family and she has things that you can’t just give to others when they have nothing to do with them .

Azriel is over Mor .

He was the one who had the entitlement not Azriel and guess what his response was ?

He scowled which means he clearly doesn’t think he deserves her and he did say that with his interaction with Elain about his scars .

And this was also not entitlement .

All he did was question the cauldron and why elucien are mates which other people have done in previous books . Never did he say he wanted her because she’s the third sister , the antics are the ones who said that and twisted his words. All he said was how is it possible that his two brothers are with two sisters and Elain was given to another. That’s a valid question in my opinion.

And this right here which seems to be a big problem for the antics isn’t a big deal as you make it to be .

The number one reason why he isn’t thinking about a future with her is because she’s mated to someone else . He can’t be with her because she’s mated. He can’t be with her because of Rhys, and he can’t be with her because the cauldron decided to pick Lucien to be hers .

I’m also not understanding the problem with the blood dual. First of all it’s a fantasy series which means there will be war and people will try to kill each other. And Az didn’t say he’d kill Lucien for fun or for no reason . He said that he’d defeat Lucien with little effort in the blood dual and when a blood dual happens someone has to die . The dual creates drama and conflict, and it’s apart of Elriel’s plot . Why are you so against conflict and a blood dual when we had a war in Acowar and one in koa?

Elain and Az would be handsome together if he stopped loving mor .

That’s interesting because we have cassian saying this In acosf.

Az did stop loving mor because of Elain. Cassian couldn’t think why but Elain is the reason why he stopped loving mor and feyre foreshadowed it .

You cannot look at this with face value or at a surface level. You have to keep in mind that he’s not allowed to be with Elain . He has fate against him, he has Rhys against, and he has Elain and Lucien’s mating bond against him.

The fact that he’s willing to do a blood dual for her should tell you how serious he is about her . He’s willing risk his life again and everything he has for her . He’s willing to fight Lucien if it means he gets to be with her . The tonic she gave that he’s been staring at for a whole year should tell you how much she means to him. Him moving out of his house for her should tell you how much respect he has for her . This man moved out his house just so he wouldn’t make a move on her , that’s great self control and most guys wouldn’t do that but Az did. He’s protective of her which show’s that he cares for her . If you look at all he’s done for her you know he’s serious about her and that he cares for her. but when you have the worldly against you like Az he’s not going to think about a future with someone he can’t be with.

Rhys.

Nesta.

Cassian.

Feyre.

After having 5 books of characters feeling undeserving and unworthy this should shouldn’t bother you.

He also felt unworthy of mor .

They all feel undeserving and unworthy and it all stems from their trauma. Azriel will feel unworthy and undeserving regardless of what woman he gets with. It won’t go away because he gets with a person, he’ll still have those feelings. As Rhys and feyre were in a relationship they both thought they didn’t deserve each other and it was like that for Nesta when she was with cassian.

Az is not toxic for feeling unworthy, it’s how he feels about himself and I know we all have felt that way about ourselves at some point so don’t hold it against him . It’s not fair to feel sympathy for feysand and Nessian on them feelings unworthy and undeserving but hating Az for feelings that way about himself. And no he is not projecting his self hatred onto Elain, he’s never done that . There will be many times where he tells Elain how he feels about himself and how he felt unworthy, it doesn’t mean he’s projecting it’s simply him saying how he feels about himself which is very normal.

Just stop hating on Az for not feeling worthy. I know you wouldn’t want anyone hating you because of how you feel about yourself so don’t do it to Az.

But around Elain, his head goes quiet.

This fully confirmed Elriel being mates.

This confirmed Elriel just like wings and embers confirmed nessain (lust and sexual chemistry is a must in an adult fantasy series).
