I don't like people using ai with the excuse they have many ideas, but not the talent. it's just laziness to me, they can practice or take writing/drawing classes, they can put the damn effort.

When I started my way, even such a thing as original female character was something… well, let’s talk honestly: it was a fucking cringe. The one should think twice before writing canon x oc back in the days.

After 2020, that slowly changed, and now, resting my bones (I am a lich, yeah) in one of the hugest fandoms ever, - Call of Duty, - with the most emotional and powerful bromance you could ever imagine, - all I can find is female!reader x ghoap. Female, female, female. Girlish selfinsert apocalypse which kills everything around it, excludes everyone.

Damn, it’s hard, you know - being gay man writing fanfiction about gay men. Alright, alright, I got used to the feeling of being slightly alone on that field. It was almost okay - I had my readers, even fans I can tell, and it never was a problem to find something to read myself. Nowadays it’s all different. I feel excluded. Lots of fandoms I am so found of turned into the swamp of fangirling, female!reader shit in every mlm fic, and the atmosphere of “yeah that’s selfinsert so what???”.

What? Fuck you, dull morons. Fuck you. I remember the days when I could proudly call fanfiction a true literature, I spend years of my life proving this. Now I am on the edge of regretting it. This female!reader selfinsert isn’t a literature, it’s a fucking sugar shit circus. Fuck you all.

Yes, A+ diploma in journalism, years I spend in the best universities of my country to be able to write something worth posting.

You know, I am not alone here. Everyone I know post only stories they find worthy - in quality, idea, plot, atmosphere and power of words.

Everyone around me take fanfiction seriously. Fuck, we risk as hell posting it, cuz fanfiction, the things we talk about in our stories, are mostly strictly forbidden in our countries. We don’t risk posting when the text is written just for fun and holds no artistic value. Oh, we know pretty well what the goddamn artistic value is. It’s is something worth all the risks we take.

In my, - our, - world fanfiction is a field of battle. The ones who write it are the best on every exam, they’re the strongest students in universities, they learn, they practice, they create the art no matter what. And now you are standing here and telling me that artistic value is just a stereotype, that everyone deserves attention no matter the quality of their text, and that we forbid women to express themselves…

Fuck this. I don’t really care what’s inside your goddamn pants. All I care is fanfiction itself, especially the explicit part of it, being seen as art, not as “stupid lazy writings of a tired housewife”. I, and not only me alone, spend years proving and propagandizing this idea, in schools, universities, social nets, and now what?

hey, buddy, no one has to improve their skills or have an education to simply write fanfiction for fun and post it online. fanfiction and writing are art, yes, but it's supposed to be fun and different and (sometimes) silly! it's supposed to be a passion, not something to stress over! for many people, writing fanfic is their gateway to personal writing projects unrelated to fandom spaces. and there's no shame in people's writing being "bad" in the fanfic community.

Gwyndolin is a TRANS MAN. The fact people still think he's a trans woman KILLS ME. THERE IS ALMOST KNOW WAY??? DO YOU EVEN READ THE ITEM DESCRIPTIONS??? and even if he isn't TRANS he's still a man. The people closest to him refer to him as male, for one. Yorshka refers to him as her BROTHER. not SISTER. The darkmoon ring from ds1 states "Gwyndolin, all too aware of his repulsive, frail appearance, created the illusion of a sister Gwynevere, who helps him guard over Anor Londo." So he was weak and frail his whole life, that can often be associated with femininity because women are often seen as "weak" that or it could be because he had some sort of disability, I mean come on the guy has snakes for legs. But regardless he was RAISED as a woman. Also if we take this quite literally for the exact ring he wears, the reversal ring, which only changes the ANIMATION of which your character has. Not your body type, and Gwyndolin seems to have not a flat chest in ds1, meaning that if that is what the ring does then he was born with a female body. Another description I don't know if any of you understand exactly what it means is this: "Gwyndolin was raised like a daughter through the aura of the moon, and was said to behave like a sullen brooding goddess." So many people infer this to mean he's a trans woman, but if we assume that it means BECAUSE he was raised like a daughter, that he behaved like a sullen, brooding goddess, then we would know he didn't like being a woman. Do you guys even know what those words mean? "bad-tempered and sulky; gloomy" (sullen) and "showing deep unhappiness of thought" (brooding). THAT MEANS HE DIDN'T LIKE IT, AND IF HE DIDN'T LIKE IT HE'S A MAN.

The tragedy of Gwyndolin is a tragedy of a man, _forced_ to live a life of a woman. Of course we can’t tell that he’s a trans coded or something (it’s more of a religious theme I suppose), but still, isn’t it a perfect illustration for the trans men lives? The lives they spend in toxic families, where everyone do their best to force them into being a woman, while they themselves are simply… just being men? Oh fuck yes.

Now, with all these supportive media, which is mostly made by people who don’t understand a fuck, it’s so easy to get lost. People who don’t have trans friends or trans family members, mostly see it like “oh this girl wants to be a man and does her best to become one!”. No matter if we’re talking about supportive and queer media, or the traditionalistic ones, which are against all this shit, we mostly see it like “this woman wants to be a man”, which shows the gender problem from “outside”. But from “inside” it feels exactly like Gwyndolin’s life. You’re a man. Definitely, you’re a man, nothing is wrong with you. Then why the fuck everyone around you acts like you’re a woman? Why?..
