I'm just gonna put this out here, something I've wanted to say for a long time: if you're "pro-life" and believe someone should be forced to give birth when they don't want to under ANY circumstances, get the fuck off my blog and block me.

So. Hi. Do any of you remember me? :')
I haven't used this blog in a long time. I graduated from college in May and have a degree in English now (currently searching for a job and suffering lol).
Language-wise, I've unfortunately kind of fallen off with Norwegian since my main study source was Duolingo. I actually quit Duolingo altogether after their many many unpleasant updates and changes.
However I am absolutely thriving with Japanese! I actually came back to this blog because I just registered to take the N3 exam in December. I've been using a website called Renshuu to learn since quitting Duolingo, and I've improved exponentially since. I've been reading short stories in Japanese (like ćå¤äøć®ę±½ē¬ć«ć¤ćć¦ćććććÆē©čŖć®å¹ēØć«ć¤ćć¦ć by Haruki Murakami, ćå°ććŖéć by Banana Yoshimoto, and ćé»åøć by Yuuko Tsushima), and I've had more opportunities to have real conversations with native speakers in real life. Since I have never had an official, professional Japanese education, I'm really excited to try the N3 exam and see if all these years have paid off.
Anyway, I'm not sure if I'll really be consistent with this blog again. But I wanted to provide an update and say that to all the mutuals I had here (if you're still around), I hope your studies are going well! :)
Faktisk implies that the listener is assumed to be unaware of the information they are being told, and that this information might be a little surprising.
Jeg har faktisk eksamen i Ćøkonomi. I have a degree in economics, actually. Jeg kommer faktisk fra Australia. I'm actually from Australia.
Egentlig means originally, initially:
Jeg har egentlig eksamen i Ćøkonomi. Well, my main degree is in fact in economics. Egentlig kommer jeg fra Australia. I come from Australia originally.
Nemlig emphasizes that that sentence is an explanation of something that has happened earlier:
Jeg skal søke pÄ den jobben - jeg har nemlig eksamen i økonomi. I am going to apply for that job, seeing as I have a degree in economics. Det er dyrt for meg Ä reise hjem. Jeg kommer nemlig fra Australia. It's expensive for me to go home, since I come from Australia.

So I havenāt been posting much lately because Iāve been super distracted by honestly crippling health anxiety. Heart rate has been constantly up high, obsessively checking my pulse, hardly sleeping, just becoming frustrated and depressed over it.
Today I went to the cardiologist and my EKG and ultrasound were all completely normal! Even my blood pressure was normal, and usually that goes up when Iām having it taken bc Iām nervous, so I was super relieved. My heart rate is still up kinda high, but now I know thereās nothing physically wrong with me, so I can start facing my anxiety head on and learning to cope with it. Itās incredible how much your mind can mess with your organs. But I feel more up to the challenge now.
does anyone know any website or what to have an overview of the Japanese grammar points divided into topics like āasking questionsā, āexpressing doubtā and then all the grammar points at different levels for that function?
This is what I used. I experienced rapid progress by combining it with reading/watching slice of life content and looking up unfamiliar grammar patterns as they appeared in the text

getting chastised by my schoolās health services for taking too long to submit updated health forms when it literally takes months to even get to SEE my doctor really stings lmao. i also literally had to call you to find out what was missing because your website is ass and gave me errors instead of a list of required forms. but okay.
College keeps sending me emails claiming I didnāt submit all my required immunization records when I most definitely did, but when I try to view the page that will tell me what Iām āmissing,ā I get an error on both mobile and desktop

Iāve been dissecting Mark Danielewskiās House of Leaves for one of my classes for the past like, month or so. Iām leading our class discussion for a good chunk of the book on the 16th and I feel like Iām going a bit insane. Not necessarily in a bad way, though.
