@serireiweek2026 Tysm!! ^^
i cracked an apple like this in front of my mom and this was her exact face
This was a really nice character detail from the animators. Hand-wringing and fidgeting are extremely common mannerisms from someone with anxiety, especially in social situations. They could have just animated some gestures and been done with it, but Bones paid attention and went a step further. For the past three years, Serizawa has constantly had the umbrella to hold onto for comfort and now suddenly it’s gone and destroyed. Whether he’s consciously thinking about it or not, his hands are instinctively searching for something to grab here in his nervousness, until he settles for just holding his hands together, as much to steady them as for a solution of comfort. I just really appreciate this little detail.
There’s this scene towards the end of season two where mob is passed out and is about to be thrown. Dimple shouts at Reigen to catch Shigeo, and for some reason Reigen associates catching a 14 year old to hitting a volleyball.

something that I've noticed upon rewatch (and rewatch and rewatch and rewatch) of mp100 is how blood is treated like a serious injury.
A lot of shonen battles have their characters cough up blood or gush blood from every pore in their body. It does levy the drama a bit, but as an audience we know it's for dramatic effect.
Mob Psycho 100 makes sure that when the audience sees blood, we know it's serious. During the battle with Suzuki, the biggest battle of the series (in terms of the fate of the world), nobody has more than some scratches and swollen eyes. They're visibly beaten up, yes, but when compared to other shonen series, you'd think that things are just getting started.
However, in Mob's flashback to his childhood, we can see that the delinquents have a pool of blood surrounding them. This was a serious injury that Mob caused. It scarred him so much that he stopped using his powers, and by proxy, his emotions.
This is not to say that other shonen that use blood in their epic fights are bad. I would be lying if I said that I didn't like seeing blood-soaked characters keep fighting despite the odds. I just wanted to show that Mob Psycho uses its visual cues differently and deliberately, because it's a series that is very deliberate with a lot of what it does.

“What are you not supposed to do with knives-?”
Time for some shit posting!
i would like to talk abt how yuzuru tachikawa went OFF in storyboarding/directing the separation arc w/ the use of natural and artificial light on reigen.
we only see his face w natural light before opening s&s
and then after his fallout with mob, it’s only behind him.
his face becomes illuminated by only his laptop in his apartment
also after mob leaves him, the blinds in the office are closed compared to when he first started. this is the window that originally showed him the light. he is subconsciously shutting out that dream of “being somebody”
more under cut!!
Wait a sec….
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
