What to do if you feel dizzy or faint:

Whatever you are doing. Stop it. Seriously. Stop jogging, stop walking towards the living room. Stop doing sit ups. Stop wherever you are, and put down anything you might be holding.

Get to a safe position. Lay down where you are. It is better to lay down willingly than to fall and bonk your head! concussions are not your friend! If you can, raise your legs with pillows to encourage blood flow to your brain. If you cannot lay down, then sit on your butt, raise your knees up and put your head between your knees. 

Care for your bodies needs. First, drink some water (slowly) as dehydration can cause dizzyness and fainting. Eat something with sugar, like jello, a fruit or a cookie (or all three) to give your body some easy energy. Eat something with salt to combat hypotension.

Let someone know. Especially if you are alone, let someone know IRL that you aren’t feeling well. You don’t have to disclose your eating disorder, just a simple “hey, i’m feeling a bit sick today” in person or over text will help. This is so that if you do pass out, someone will know about it. If you do end up unconscious, you want someone to know about it so they could contact medical help if necessary. 

Seek medical help if necessary. If you experienced:

heart palpitations, chest pains or irregular heartbeat before or after losing consciousness

if you hit your head or otherwise injured yourself during the event

have diabetes or heart disease

are pregnant

experienced a loss of bladder or bowel control

experienced repeated episodes of fainting

took longer than a few minutes to regain consciousness.

There’s a new meme in China, and it’s very wholesome. The challenge, called “four generations,” includes four generations of family members making an appearance, from youngest to oldest. A son would call his dad, who then calls his dad, who then calls his dad. And a daughter would call her mom, who calls her mom, who calls her mom. The results are super cute.

The videos are being shared on video app Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, under the challenge name, “Four generations under one roof.”
