And before we use this crutch, this precious crutch of “Michael is for everyone”. Yes michael very much advocated for equality and peace amongst all. We all know this. Still Michael Jackson was apart of the black community. A community that suffers at the hands of the world stealing our art, dimming our light, and silencing our cries. This current discourse includes harm towards THE BLACK COMMUNITY and yet we still have to extend grace and remember to be inclusive..? This is the same black man who’d faced racism in the industry with MTV cause they didn’t broadcast black artist. A black man who advocated for his people, who celebrated our art, and redefined the very pop culture we all love. Michael wanted inclusivity, but he still called out the bullshit that occurred within black communities. he LOVED to incorporate black women and black culture in his short films and music videos yet those same black women must give grace to the woman cosplaying for traction..? Y’all can kiss the blackest part of my ass, disrespectfully!
