I don't give a shit about the Billet labs situation. No self-respecting person should give a shit about moralizing inter-corporate drama. Who cares. The inaccuracy of LMG Labs reporting just tells me to avoid LMG sources for reviews.

However the situation that has been exposed about Madison (aka SuopOnYoutube) and her employment under Linus Media Group is completely unforgivable. Linus Media Group is owned and ran by the scum of the earth and I wish there was a hell for these bitches to burn in forever.

If Opera was marketting to people who multi-task on low-spec machines =/<8gb RAM on top of a grandma CPU I'd feel less annoyed by it.

Tech illiteracy is a relevant factor I think. Too many people think spare RAM makes their computer faster because they don't understand how RAM actually works.

It's not that GX is a bad browser by any means. It's Chrome at the core and Chrome is a decent browser. Really just that its gimmick is just... not as useful as their sponsor spots make it out to be. At least not to the specific demographics its marketing to.

Like the reason PC gamers get excess RAM in the first place is because the main advantage of the PC is its multi-tasking capabilities.

Of course Microsoft wont take it lying down. They are going to resist it. But not as fiercely as they would have ten years ago.

That said, I don't think there will ever be a "year of the Linux desktop". It will be a slow, gradual process as tech develops and things like the Steam Deck come out. Eventually one day you will replace your current laptop and the HP convertible you pick up to replace it will have a custom SI version of Ubuntu loaded onto it but your work computer will still have Windows on it because of a specialized software that has yet to be ported.
