It is still active. There have been a few people that have been caught up in exams and final projects and everything else life has going for them. We are trying to pick up the activity but we are still active, although with people having to leave because of personal reasons it’s getting harder to roleplay. 

If you want to apply then please, by all means we are accepting and trying to revamp this group. This will come naturally where more people apply and more charaters are accepted because not everyone can meet each other due to their characters work or something.

Okay so we’ve got a handful of blogs that haven’t had any activity in 2 weeks and over. In the rules we’ve stated that this isn’t acceptable. However we do understand that it is exam season and that there are some of you under the pressure and stress of it all. 

So, we are being more flexible with this, though to make sure we don’t have any forgotten blogs, can you please like this post so we know you’re all still with us. 

If you feel like you’re not going to be active for over 2 weeks - then please let one of the mods know just so we can make allowances and we know.

indicxtive (our Erwin) has been made a moderator of the community; please bring concerns, requests, and so on to them. They have the freedom to appoint others to the position of moderator if they wish.

All of the mods would like to thank you all for joining the group and expressing an interest in RPing with us. We’re regretful that we have to step down (and that we misjudged our available time!), but we’re glad that others want to keep things going. Best of luck to all of you!

Aeviternal does not require that you match the post length of your partner. We ask that all members give a sufficient reply to their partners in context: in other words, if the thread begins to move toward dialogue, natural progression of writing would indicate that details should fall away: responses can become shorter while the characters discuss something.

If everyone has to match length or out-write their partner, eventually threads get tedious to reply to and the muns run out of filler emotional stuff to put in their responses. We want all members to feel that it's totally okay to be fluid in your responses to your partner so long as it makes sense within the context of the thread. Here's a good example of what I'm talking about. Though Marlowe's response is 1/3rd the length of Hitch's, since they're about to enter into a conversation, it works.

We want to encourage all members to communicate with their RP partners to ensure that things go smoothly; it's easy to arrange for each other to write long responses alternatively so that one person isn't always writing timeskip replies or long starters and everyone gets the chance to come back with a shorter reply.

(Tip: if your response is going to be shorter, give your partner action or dialogue: nobody can respond to your character's thoughts, but it's easy to respond to someone else doing or saying something aloud.)

Hello, group!

We have three things to cover.

One:

Doing this week's activity check has produced some unsurprising but also disappointing results: people aren't RPing very much. This is bad considering this is a new group and our activity should be up!

Most of you know the state the indie scene is in right now: slow replies (sometimes days or weeks to get one, if you ever get anything at all), abandoned blogs (after a week or two), lack of motivation to write—et cetera and so on.

Aeviternal is not a modern-verse indie group. I would like to remind everyone that the purpose of joining and being a part of a closed group is to avoid those problems. We want to give RPers for SnK a fun place to RP where they get responses in a reliable, fairly prompt manner—where they know all of their partners are reliable and won't get bored or jump ship partway through a thread.

The entire purpose of this group is to not be like the indie blog scene.

The two-week buffer is there for extenuating circumstances: vacation, illness, schoolwork—not as an excuse to go nearly two weeks on the regular without replying to other people! This is a closed group, which means we only RP with people affiliated with this group; there are only 19 of us, so options for who we can RP with are limited: we require regular replies to keep activity moving. Generally speaking, our goal is to have nobody going more than 2-3 days without replying to people. If everyone waits a week to reply to things, the group will be really dead really fast, and I'm sure none of us want that.

If you haven't replied to things in a couple of days: please do so as soon as possible.

If, for some reason you feel you cannot be regularly active enough in this group to avoid contributing to the problem, please get with a  moderator and discuss the situation/your feelings on the matter.

Two:

After discussion with other members and my fellow moderators, the conclusion has been reached that the OOC chat is doing more harm than good for our community. While we do want our members to learn a little bit about each other to foster some sense of togetherness, I'm afraid the OOC chat moves too quickly and proves to be more a distraction than a useful tool for camaraderie. In fact, due to the fast-moving pace of the chat, and its lack of relevance to RP 99% of the time, several members of the group have felt excluded.

Our OOC chat will become an RP-discussion chat instead; its only purpose will be discussion of possible threads, starters, plots, and so on, as relating to Aeviternal (not SnK in general unless this relates to Aeviternal: for example, it's a part of your character's previous life).

This may seem harsh but things said in the OOC chat have made some people feel unwelcome, uncomfortable, alienated, or offended (among other things), and it's hard to write with people who have made you feel uncomfortable—yes, even OOC—so we'd like to bring things in line. This group should be conducive to writing considering it's an RP group.

Please add fellow members to your own Skype if you'd like to converse with them OOC. We also encourage plotting privately, but this method might be nice as other members could have good ideas for you to use for your own characters/can offer advice.
