I spent the last months of 2020 revamping my website from the ground up, including moving from Squarespace, which has become more merchant-focused, to Cargo, which is more art-based and provides more freedom in creating a unique website. 

In this new space, I aimed to move away from the traditional portfolio site to a more experiential interactive site.    

After my conversation with a few artists/activists on our mutual obsession with the LA River, I decided to FINALLY begin working on the photobook version of my LA River project, In Search of Alluvium.

Ongoing through December 3rd, Rule 42 at the Bonita Museum in San Diego is a group show where I'm exhibiting a deeply personal piece from the project Blood Works:

Gorgeously curated by Vallo Riberto, the show features "Explorations into Visual and Mathematical Poetry" and is a feast for the eyes and the mind.

Wow, Bergger Pancro 400 film stock is impressively detailed. Sadly, the majority of the roll has light leaks, because... ahem... user error (i.e, super-pro photog/me didn't properly close the back of the camera)

In early 2020, during the first lockdown, I started working on a new series, which I’ve come to call Separate/Equal. 

Separate/Equal is a series of large scale handmade photo-collages that explore how time, space, and scale determine value. The photo-collages juxtapose photographic technologies and different sizes to challenge our value system.  I am interested in equivalencies, in making connections between things that may not appear, at a quick glance, to be connected at all.  I’m also interested in the relationship between humans and the natural world.

In Spring 2021, the above image took home the grand prize of the Elysian Valley Arts Collective Juried Art Show (HERE for details)

This series has also been been shortlisted from over 4000 entries to be included in the Royal Photographic Society’s International Photography Exhibition! (Check out the announcement HERE, and the image gallery HERE)

A new YouTube show that focuses on costume design analysis, created by the ever-witty and thoroughly knowledgeable Gavia Baker Whitelaw. Learning about this aspect of filmmaking has been quite eye opening.
