Some of the variations of this photograph of my many many many printing sessions I had in the darkroom the last two weeks. I liked the normal version. But I want “normal” with some prints. And I want a dream world with others. And this oak bark and selenium toned prints are getting there. Now I have to wait for another batch of paper before I can continue printing. [—>] I’ve been photographing on this project for a year now and not have shared super much about it. Just a photograph here and there. But there already has been plenty made, and still a giant pile of film to develop. Also since I am a firm believer in that the print is just as important as the photograph itself and that takes time… Working out concepts. Sourcing new paper as well as old. See how the silver reacts while developing with the old and new papers and toning and staining. And if it sucks you have to start all over again… The print you see here in the frame is just a proof of concept and that already takes plenty of time to make… The end result will be better and a bit different. I just wanted to see if I could do this. :) Right now it’s evaluating and see what kind of photographs I want to add to the project and diversify. And in the downtime some writing is also done. So if you are curious where I am at, at the moment regarding my work. This is the current status.
