it's the "i found it. she's mine" and the history man suggesting he can teach furiosa to become a history man herself vs miss giddy yelling "they are not your property! you cannot own a human being! sooner or later, someone pushes back!"

it's dementus calling furiosa "a fabulous thing" vs "we are not things" vs the woman from dementus' inner circle is mr norton vs "then who killed the world?" vs "there always was, is, and will be war" vs the keeper of the seeds stating that the baby "could be a girl"

it's the bullets as "antiseed. plant one and watch smth die" vs "each of us in our own way will vanish from this earth. and then perhaps some uncorrupted life will rise to adorn it" vs "i plant one every chance i get. so many different kinds. trees, flowers, fruit"

it's the antichrist appearing wearing white and with a smile, it's the savior protected by the cross of iron

Sure they had more minor criminals who did a bit of stealing and stuff but the islands were such a tight knit community people didn’t really do crimes because the social cost of being caught were too big.

Except this one guy who had schizophrenia. People weren’t afraid of him because he had never hurt anyone before until one random day he shot a politician with a harpoon.

The politician survived and the man went to prison where he did his time and for years after that whenever important people would visit the islands the police didn’t waste money on following them around, instead they sent one police officer to hang out with the harpoon guy for the day.

- loses snuff handkerchief, blames pick-pockets

- privately nostalgic for the days when women weren't hidden beneath petticoats and giant sleeves
