Sure, love that! Haven't watched the movie or read the book but I am now thoroughly invested. Sure! Makes sense, that's usually how I find things I love.

Anyways...

I just saw a post about how eridians, more specifically rocky, would find out about restaurants and be confused (and disgusted) by the fact humans go the specific buildings in order to eat around other people.

And like-

I can't help but think about the fact that humans are hardwired to be social eaters.

You get depressed if you have no one to eat with- I have skipped meals because I don't like eating alone.

I think it would also be good to note it might be a survival thing. Humans choke easily and having someone around can be a comfort and a safeguard.

And our saliva is literally full of drugs- watered down so we aren't high all the time- but our saliva has highly effective painkillers (opioid i think but don't want to research it) and antidepressants??? Which is tied to comfort eating.

But more on communal eating. Its also a social behavior, a bonding activity. Its important for our brains to eat with people.

Its simular but not as extreme as the eridians sleep watching behavior.

Safety;

Eridian sleeping- vulnerable, paralyzed state

Human eating- vulnerable, body is focused on digestion instead of activity (stomach cramps if you run right after eating) worse hearing (your chewing is loud) personally I get super zoned out while eating (lost in the sause)

Social behavior;

Eridian sleeping- shows trust

Human eating- shows trust (i would not let a stranger anywhere near my food) used to socialize

What im getting at is maybe the eridians would not find it *that* weird. In context its an important behavior.

I'd be asking questions thatshouldnt be asked- like!

I'd stare at, lets say Leona or any other beastman- probably Jack because I would be worried about annoying Leona, trying to stomp down the questions before my curiosity wins out and I ask, "Do you have more wolf instincts or human instincts or is it completely its own thing?" "Whats your internal structure look like?" "Are you built more for endurance or fast stints over short distances?"

And with the merfolk I bet I'd be worse! "Do you have a second set of jaws? (the tweels)" "Can you taste with your arms, and or, hands? (Azul)" "do you have bones?"

I swear I'd give people murderer vibes, or crazy scientist- poor idia, first time meeting him I'd probably ask, "how does your hair work? Does it burn like actual fire, if I touched it would I be burnt? Are you immune to fire, or is it specifically magic fire?" "Why are your teeth sharp???"

I mean, of course I can hold in questions. I know not to ask anything rude, but also if I didn't ask I'd be dying inside.

The fae aren't safe. I'd be asking fae specific questions.

"Can you steal names?" "Do you steal names?" "If a human eats fae food what happens?" "What is your biology?" "If iron burns you is there a specific threshold where it doesn't? Because human blood has iron in it to help with oxygen and nutrient transfers, so does your blood have iron and does human blood burn you?" "Are fairy circles a thing here, in my world there's a thing where your not supposed to step in rings of plants, like mushrooms or flowers or any other naturally grown plants."

Riddle!?

Wow... Riddle went for it. My last one Lilia won. Wow.

Like a puppet on strings my body moves, standing up. My team is on the ground, mangled and ripped apart. Their blood stains my clothes and shoes, I can feel their souls stuck in their not yet dead bodies. I can practically taste the agony and despair in the air, its bitter and empty.

'Grant them protection...' A desperate plea to my God. 'They need to survive.'

"What will you grant me, darling?" My God, my patron; several voices mixed in an eerie amalgamation. It makes my head spin.

'I offer you my entire being.'

"Its a deal." I feel a surge of power course through my bones. Like a river is rushing through my very veins, it crashes and pulls. Its burns and tears but I don't fall, I can't. Not yet, I'm still on strings.

Hands reach up, coming through the blood pooled under us to cradle my parties corpses, some hands reaching higher to grab the souls before they leave. Slowly they are pulled down through the blood. Once their gone my strings are cut. I fall backwards and brace for the pain of hitting the floor but it never comes, instead I fall. I fall farther then I should have.

I'm surrounded by black, I think I can make out some stars but its so faint I'm not sure. I slow in my dissent, slower and slower until I'm floating... I think; it doesn't feel like I'm falling anymore.

"Hello darling." I feel something move beside me, I feel safe. I fit in their hands, cradled like a precious gem. I look up at them, my God. Their indescribable, like the night sky filled with stars, the northern lights... the full moon at 3 in the morning. Their beautiful, comforting.

They look sad, but I can't pay much mind. I'm tired. I'm so very tired. I can't keep my eyes open.

"Thank you for be so devoted to me for so long. You can rest now my dear... my final follower."

"You're finally awake?" A tall, noble looking man watches the prone figure with sharp green eyes. He's obviously seen a few battles if the scars on his arms is anything to go by.

As the silence stretches the noble tilts his head in amusement. "You do speak do you not?"

"I do. I'm Outis..." Their voice is monotone and Outis blinks taking in all the little intricacies of their surroundings. Its clear this man doesn't know them so they won't bother acting.

He seems taken aback for a moment before he laughs and shakes his head. "Oh-dis or oat-is?"

"Odis, and you are?"

"You can call me Athan." The man, Athan, tosses a book onto the table beside the bed. He leans forward on his knee with a look of keen interest. "Where are you from?"

Outis looks over at the book that was set aside. The title reads 'History of Odol: The city of blood.' They sit up and reach out to take the book, the cover smooth and a red leather. "Where am I right now?"

"Jin, the capital of Odol." Outis flips open the book and spots a map. Odol takes up a large chunk of the northern- west. There are 2 continents and 3 large islands. Outis scans the page for a small and out of reach place, isolated. "Aalto."

Athan doesn't look convinced eyes narrowing slightly before shaking his head. "You're lying but I could not care less. If you want to be believed you should say your from Myra, the people from there tend to be fairer in color. Not to mention the mercenaries and merchant love to gather there and base there."

"... I'm from Myra..." Athan nods, his hair boncy as he does.

"Good. You're currently in the Odol empire, on the northern continent. Odol values usefulness above all else. Do you have any goals or plans?"

'The book never went into details on world building, focused on the action.' Outis blinks and looks at their hands. 'There's something big going on, I didn't finish the book though.. how inconvenient.'

With a sigh Outis lays back down. "Get money, live comfortably and do nothing."

"... I suppose that's an admirable goal." Athan looks confused and kind of disappointed at he looks at Outis. "Anyways, walk with me."

Athan stand up and waits for Outis to comply. They hesitate before raising to their feet with a sigh. The two walk through halls, the building their in is clean and white, the walls perfect and clean. They almost hurt to look at.

Outis notices when the leave the medical area, the clean white perfect walls turning to uncovered brick and marble, intricate designs carved into the stone in delicate murals of stories.

"These murals depict legands and myths, stories about God's and monsters. Prophecies fulfilled and yet to happen. There are plenty of stretches of halls covered in these stories." Athan runs his hand over the precise stone carvings a far away look on his face as he looks at one particular depiction. "These carvings cover millennia of stories."

He pulls his hand away and blinks a few times as if remembering himself. He looks at Outis. "-but thats all they are. Stories."

Outis glances towards the depiction Athan had looked so longingly at and took note of the tragedy suggested by the framing of the carving.

I have ideas and they keep changing so now I want to restart. So imma just put a bunch of short stories that will probably suck here, built up with the same characters and world as the book-.. s.

How is writing so hard? I know what I want to do but I don't know how to do it. How do you transition scenes? How do you start the book?

I'm writing with a, "I'll fix it later." Mentality. I'm not going to worry about splitting it into chapters of making it smooth till I'm editing.

If you have any tips I'd appreciate them.

I might post character interactions just because I can. I'm all about world building and characters, I redesigned the calender and made new holidays because I can. I need to be stopped. No one wants to hear about lore from books I probably won't even put out there.

The entrance ceremony was going well.. until Tommy had entered the room with Crowley. The feral child was being held by the back of his shirt as they screamed and cursed Crowley. Everyone was concerned.

"PUT ME DOWN YOU BIRD BRIANED BITCH!" The child screeched as he wiggled in the bird man's grasp. "I WILL DESTROY YOUR BLOOD LINE AND RAIN HELL FIRE UPON YOU!"

The headmaster dropped Tommy on the ground and crossed his arms. The feral child stood up and glared opening his mouth to, presumably, begin cussing the headmage out again. "Go up to the mirror and state your name." The headmaster ordered seeming exhausted. Grim stayed silent by Tommy having been given a small amount of affection and wanting more.

"HMF!" Tommy huffed and stomed over to the mirror. "Tommy Danger Kraken Innit! ...bitch."

"... I don't know which dorm you fit in. Perhaps you should be put in a separate dorm." The black mirror said, probably thinking Tommy is a danger to the other students.

Tommy: Sorry, I am stuck here. But tell dadza that some bitch put me in a rundown, falling apart dorm, even though he was the one who brought me here.

Ace: *Whispering to deuce* Is he talking to a Crow???

Random Crow: *Nods his head and flies away.*

Deuce: *Whispering.* I think they were both talking.

BTW I don't know if it's cannon that jamil speaks Arbic. Also I feel like Azul would have learned basic French so he could understand what Rook is saying.

I saw a post about someone headcannoning Idia being able to speak Greek and that him and his dad only communicate by yelling across the house in Greek or with body language. That inspired this.

You blink awake, when had you fallen asleep? You shake yourself and sit up trying to remember what happened.

Malleus overblotted...

You look up at the sound of shouting, faces blurred as your tired mind tied to process what was happening.

You saw the arrow and you moved. Malleus was to focused on the person infront of him that his side was wide open, he was going to die, he was going to die, hewasgoingtodie!

Grabbing his shoulders you spun him and switched your places around, you felt the arrow hit... but everything faded the pain not noticeable as you saw Malleus' eyes soften.

"Child of man?" He asked softly. You could only cough in answer, blood coming through your lips. Malleus looked at you in growing horror.

Looking down you see the tip of the arrow had went through your back and now stuck out of your front. 'Huh- I thought I would die far sooner than this...' laughing lightly at your own thoughts as you fell into Malleus' arms, into the arms of your love.

"Hey... hey, your fine right?" You could hear the desperation in his voice, his tone pleading as it broke. "Prefect- My child of man? You're going to be fine right?"

You want to respond, tell him that you're okay, that everything is going to be okay.. but you can't, your throat filled with blood as you cough, your throat screaming in protest as you try to say something- ANYTHING!

You open your eyes, when had they closed, and see that Malleus is back to normal. His eyes shine with unshed tears as he begs for an answer, anything from you. Nothing comes, just more coughs and wheezes.

"Please, please!" He begs as your eyes begin to shut again. "No, no, nonononono NO!"

He sobs as your body starts to get cold. He promised to protect you but he can't do anything more then watch you die. And it's all his fault.

"I'm sorry." He whispers, his voice cracking. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry! This wasn't supposed to happen!"

You can hear him sob but it's fading.

"Please!" You wish you could comply. "Come back! Don't leave me!" He gasps. His voice is quiet when he next speaks.
