So I'm a daycare teacher. Babies and toddler kinda just go limp or go koala mode when you pick them up. They have their own favorite position too. What shoulder they like to put their head on or how they position their arms.

They also get so sad if you don't pick them up but you aren't supposed to once they turn 1. Its so they can break the habit crying when you don't so you can get work done.
