is it 'difficulty-focused' game design or is it ableism
i think this is largely an issue of game designers struggling to conceptualize a hard game that isn't due to ludic difficulty.
like yeah there's the ableism obviously but so many games that exist are based on tie sensitive identification of a problem and solution and a specific and sensitive input for it. pvp games are real time. survival games have you need to orient yourself to interact with incoming threats on a scale of half seconds. park builders/city builders can require precision placement to maximize efficiency (which depending on the balance could be a knife edge of breaking even).
how many games even are there that are fully accessible? how many of them are difficult? and how many of those are popular (or even good) enough for us to have a chance of knowing they exist?
