yuu simply cannot understand the concept of giving a shit about himself. he just wants to be strong and also help mika. is that too much to ask for? so what if he wrecks himself in the process. it’s his friends who matter.

he wants to roll his eyes so bad, but he decides against it.

❝whatever.❞ in typical teenage fashion, he isn’t really listening to what mika’s saying, especially because it’s for his own good. ❝i think you’re saying that because you lost to me in arm wrestling that one time. besides, winning makes me feel good, so i dunno what’s wrong with that.❞

“That has nothing to do with what I’m saying!” The burst of words is embarrassing. It with no warning because Yuu is an idiot who Mika just wants to shake sense to, even if it dislodges that gigantic head from his stupid body...! “I don’t care about whatever wrestling match you’re talking about!” A part of him wonders if that was when they were still children and oblivious. Another part doesn’t care that he has forgotten already. “And that’s if you even win in the first place, stupid Yuu!”

It surprises him how fast the mask of uniformity sheds from youthful features. He cannot say he sees Krul as a vulnerable person, yet he has witnessed his fair share of slips in personae. Ashera must mean a grand amount to her, then, for such composure to shake at the mere mention of his name. 

A useless reiteration she poses. Blank is the stare he gives her, rather clear in his disdain for the observation she gave. 

How strange, her answer is. After all, not many would dare traverse these parts without significant skill to add to their advantage and defence. Suspicious, then. He will have to keep a wary eye on her, though he wholly doubts she will pose a threat to him. 

“If you’re uncertain where you are, then I must question your origins.” Flatly given response, no room for consideration of her request. Now that he considers her appearance further, he can only assume she hails from JIDA. Perhaps even an experiment of their design, unaware she is being used. Just like---

Disgruntled sounds. The touch to his forehead does little to soothe his rising ire. Stupid Yuu. He overestimates himself. Or, rather, he doesn’t care he pushes himself to his limits and beyond.
