The Hunted Hunting | | Aurora + Hemlock | | Animal Hunting
Well that was weird. ”Alright lead the way I guess.” I ducked under a branch and made sure we were following the right tracks as Aurora knocked on an empty log. Sure enough the creature came skittering out andoff into the woods. I looked to Aurora, who clearly wasn’t adamant on following it. I didn’t have any vice against the critter but knowing who was watching made me realize I don’t want to show any signs of weakness.
I chased it down, using my training with athletics to narrow the gap between the two of us. It turned and sprayed, to which I held back and kept my distance. It knew it wasn’t long for this life which I confirmed by jamming a tree branch through it’s stomach.
I stand back as he goes after the skunk, crinkling my nose at the putrid scent its spray gives off. I hear a bit of skittering before the animal whimpers. Hemlock returns, no blood on his hands. I don't care to know how he killed it. I'll have my own way of doing it if I need to. No problem there.
"What do you want to track down next?" I ask.
As we go off in search of this animal, I just have to ask, "Why is it that you're killing these animals. I mean, I know that station is animal hunting, but if you aren't using them as meat or anything, then really, what's the point?"
