A little letter(that turned out bigger than my first draft) I imagined Chase would write to Carmen after realizing, with all due respect, that he fucked up.

like. they’re fighting against a criminal organization that is so secret and covert, literally nobody knows about it (except ACME but they’ve been trying to find them for 20 years and turned up with nothing, so without Carmen’s intervention they probably never would have defeated them), but its roots are in LITERALLY every country. there are canonically VILE operatives that run nations and supercompanies. like. when you really get into it, VILE is ASTRONOMICALLY powerful. and the only people who both know about it and can actively fight against it are a handful of teenagers.

Wouldn’t surprise me in any post series adventures that Carmen suffers from flashbacks, unable to tell one reality from another since her brain had been messed with for so long. There’s no way there isn’t some kind of permanent brain damage. Brunt even says so when they used the variation to interrogate Devineaux.

Player’s nightmares hearing Carmen’s ribs crack under Brunt’s hug via their very much still open comm link? When he lost her for 6-7 months *twice* in the same series? Or knowing he very well could have killed Carmen by telling Zack to go after Ivy in Stockholm?

Also, the other operatives in Carmen’s class were all older than her. She wasn’t supposed to join them for another year or two. She asked the Faculty to take her early. VILE is taking advantage of technically legal adults (barely). They knew exactly what they’re doing. The world would look for a minor, but not once they pass a certain age. Black Sheep, however, does not technically exist. It’s almost more sinister how well thought out VILE is.
