Home is Where - I became birds (2021) This is another EP that I knew nothing about before listening and just decided to listen to it off of the cover. And even after listening to it, Iām still not fully sure what I listened to. The song titles are incredibly eclectic to the point where I have no clue what some of them are supposed to mean, and even though I knew the music was in english I donāt really feel like I understood anything from it. It was some brand of emo-y folk punk but beyond that I canāt really put any fingers on it. I even went to the bands twitter page to try and figure out what I listened to, and all I realized was that it was queer punk which always seems to gravitate to me, and that the band posts weezer memes. Didnāt really tell me much though in the end, but at least the music was pretty meh and not totally bad, but no real standouts. Total Time - 18:44 Rating: 4.5/10
Gustaf - Audio Drag for Ego Slobs (2021) I have to remember to actually update my reviews and to stop forgetting about them for so long that I have trouble remembering what went on the albums. Luckily for me, this album was nothing really to write home about anyways. It starts off nice with a nice blend of some very punchy post-punk with riot grrrl stylings, but with every single song that comes after it the charm that was once there slowly just fades into nothingness, culminating with a disaster of a song just calledĀ ādog.ā In a very baffling song, itās just like three minutes of singing about an exās dog in very awkward fashions, which is honestly just a perfect summary for this album as a whole Total Time - 31:04 Rating: 4/10
Gonk - Gonk (2022) Continuing on from the other review from the day, I also forgot to put out this review, and maybe it was for the better. It says something when you make a synthy, punky album and then get your mom to help you out on it. Maybe itās to be expected from punk out of Utah, but regardless of that fact I still didnāt find myself enjoying it that much. Something about it just felt too simple and basic, even for punk standards and thatās rare, with every song feeling the exact same really. Total Time - 10:56 Rating: 2.5/10

Leathers - Reckless (2021) Whoops I guess I forgot to put out a review for this yesterday, and now Iāve forgotten most of what happens on the EP. What I do remember though, it was a pretty solid Synth Pop set but definitely felt bland in places with spots of just, almost a neutral feeling being evoked by it. I do have to give it a bit of credit for the hometown connection, but in the end it wasnāt enough to salvage it for me Total Time - 20:36 Rating: 6/10
Pigeon Pit - Feather River Canyon Blues (2022) A return to the roots, not just in the supremely down to earth and honest music that is put on display, but also how itās exactly the type of music that I strive to search for and find. Thereās just something about folky queer punk that just tickles all my fancies, and in this case they get tickled even more than usual. Despite bouncing through various folky styles and sometimes even dipping into country music, thereās a constant feeling of comfort that makes nothing feel out of place musically. Lyrically itās composed in a style similar to most folk punk albums out there, but the songwriting skills of Lomes pull through heavily to make some highly poetic lyrics that even made me teary eyed at one point. Itās just such a heavily consistent album where I love almost every song on it, and will be returning to it a lot in the future. Total Time - 25:25 Rating: 10/10 Standout Track: River Song
Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith - EARS (2016) Did I pick this album entirely because of the creators name? Yes. Did I also go in expecting to not really like the album because ambient music isnāt entirely my type of music, especially when Iām trying to dedicate my attention to it? Also Yes. But you know what, I ended up being pleasantly surprised by it even if it wasnāt entirely what Iām interested in. Iām not that well equipped at reviewing electronic ambient music, but through the ambience every now and then would come pleasant melodies that served as oasis from electronic moodiness, and the ethereal moanings of Kaitlyn provide interesting interstitials that manage to make you invested in the music. While it might not have been what I was trying to find myself, I still had a pleasant experience throughout.Ā Total Time - 38:45 Rating: 7.5/10 Standout Track: Existence in the Unfurling
Solo Career - The SentimentalistĀ (2021) Back again once again with another album out of Australia, with a twist that for once itās not a post-punk album which is seemingly all I can manage to find from there these days (other than all the other ones Iāve found). The Sentimentalist is bedroom pop to its more truthful definition, with the main draw being that each of the songs was recorded in various bedrooms. Outside of being from a bedroom, the music on this short album has a consistently airy and floaty feel to it both in the musical backing and the vocals, a slow and vacant pace that persists throughout every song. For some reason it almost feels like every song on the album is more fit to be an interstitial song, as Iām left waiting for a standout moment but it never really comes. Itās still listenable, but leaves room to be searching for more. Total Time - 18:09 Rating: 4.5/10
Kazaho Okabayashi -Ā meccha meccha haru (2019) I donāt speak Japanese, but I can read english. After wandering through various tracks by other artists with lyrics about the most anine things, I decided enough was enough and to just listen to some nice and sweet acoustic pop out of Japan. The music vibe is what you might expect after looking at the cover, a simplistic and quaint experience of 13 (relatively) solo guitar tracks with a comfortable singing accompanying you throughout the way and make you smile with its infectious happiness that will make you lightly bob along. Thereās a certain feeling throughout the albums of evoking a traditional Japanese folklore story telling style as you get transported through each short story. Total Time - 31:19 Rating: 8/10 Standout Track: Pancake45

Midori -Ā aratamemashite hajimemashite midoridesu (2008) I donāt have much to say about this one. It just randomly showed up on my youtube recommendations, the album art caught my eye enough to wonder what on earth would be attached to the (uncensored) cover, and it ended up delivering in the end with some very solid combination Japanese jazz fusion crossed with some pop punky stylings. Was a great use of my time in the end, fun times. Total Time - 30:21 Rating: 9/10 Standout Track: Howlingjigoku
Katie Day - Forever Music (2022) Music as a coping mechanism has an importance in our lives that should be not overlooked. Katie Deyās latest work is one such example of this, spilling out heartfelt and personal stories in a quintessentially cisnāt way. Growing off of a prevelant development in her work, Forever Music display a sense of growing optimism both in the cases of her previous works and throughout the tracks themselves, opening with songs addressing living with dysphoria and reflecting on problematic relationships before progressing to dreams and aspirations of a happy life. Katie has further matured her musical style of electro pop, branching out to more orchestral hints and piano melodies interspersed as the album progresses all tied up with a ribbon of ethereal dreaminess. A very respectable showing from an artist I adore. Total Time - 32:42 Rating: 8.5/10 Standout Track: Equidistant
