Autism and a WWI veteran ancestor's PTSD
This child's profound Autism meltdown is tragic and it makes me wonder how much the soul and mind are effected by our ancestors. Yes his reactionreminds me not only of the self injurous 'Man in the Tombs' whom Jesus healed in Mark 5, but his reaction here to the field of bluebonnets rminds me of how a soldier who was injured (or killed) in a flower field-turned-battlefield would've reacted on a visit to a similar field of flowers. A PTSD ridden soldier would've broken down at such a place, let alone this child with Autism, who is part French. Did this boy have ancestors who died at Flanders Field in WWI? Or ancestors who died on the battlefields, which were originally fields of wildflowers, at The Alamo (1846) or the US Civil War (1861-65)? It is definitely a question to ponder and pray about. One that ultimately God only knows.
