in this part: san explains what happened to you

"Your memories, none of them are real. You were just...brainwashed to think that they are."
"It's a type of treatment," San explained. "Something bad happened, and you were really...sad about it. This treatment was made for people in your situation, so it was recommended to me. I said yes, I thought it would be better for you. I just wanted you to be happy."
"But why forget you? Isn't this new me hurting you?" You suddenly realised why San said you remind him of 'her'. Instead of being a completely new person, you were the same you, but without memories of him.
"It is. They told me that keeping me in your life might trigger your previous memories to come back, so they kept me out of it, and even transferred schools for you. But you still came back..."
"Then why didn't you keep your distance? Why did you let Wooyoung create chances for us to be together?" You paused before asking sadly, "Why act like you hate me?"
"Because I regretted. I wanted to be near you, but I didn't dare to. I still love you, but I don't want you to love me. It can't happen. All of us have to act like we didn't know you and it hurts. And...we made mistakes. Your handler and Wooyoung-"
"Handler?" You interrupted.
"Your 'best friend'. She's your handler. She's supposed to ensure that your treatment goes on successfully. Letting you transfer back here was a risk. Then, she started crushing on Wooyoung, and she found out the effect this whole treatment had on us. I guess, she wanted you to fall in love with me again, which is completely against the rules. I was selfish. I went to see you everytime, but I was scared that your memories might resurface, so I didn't let myself get close to you."
You tried to process whatever San said as fast as you could, and it left you with one question. "So, what happened to me before the treatment?"
San was stunned by your question. "I can't tell you."
"Why? Those are my memories."
"There are side effects! If you remember, it might cause you to break down, worse than you originally did."
"But I know now that I have a different set of memories. I'll be prepared for it, I promise."
"I think..." San looked at the determined expression on your face. He sighed. "Alright. But there is a risk to this." San took something out of his pocket and showed it to you. It was a ziploc bag with two small pills in it. "They said this will recover your memories. You'll fall asleep after taking this, so everything feels like a dream. There's a very small amount of people who had taken these before, so I don't know much about side effects."
You stared at the pills, trying to weigh the pros and cons before you decided to just follow your heart and stick to the decision of recovering your memories.
