Upon opening the cover and thumbing through a few pages, secret was the word she would have used had the loose-leaf papers said anything she hadn’t known or assumed…but a few proved to be factual. A warm, gentle smile curved over her lips as she observed the handwriting, the words.

       “Oooh! Lord Takumi is gonna look the coolest!”

   He’d grown used to this– the subtle weight against him, the heat on his back, the familiar presence of Keith’s slender body and quiet accompaniment. Neither needed to share words in the dead of night when all but the hum of the hall lights and the shifting of blankets was silent. It had frightened him at first, made him tense, but nowadays it was so commonplace Shiro almost looked forward to the early hours of the morning when all the others were asleep, when Keith would come tiptoeing in and shuffle next to him.

   Of course, Shiro hardly slept prior to the arrangement, so he was glad to feel…safe. Safe and secure; home here in his bed and not on the roof staring into space at the faintly glimmering stars and hoping perhaps one day this would all end and he wouldn’t be so scared anymore.

   And so tonight, as the smile crept over his lips and the racing of his heart and tightness of his throat faded, Shiro scooted back ever so much more, gently, gently, so the two’s contact would be that much more tangible, real. A breath [shaky– audibly shaky and so surprisingly vulnerable] came softly through his barely parted lips as he concentrated on his back expanding and getting warmer, feeling the slight change in pressure as the air came into his lungs.

   Out of all the places to end up after a long journey...this Detroit didn’t seem like it was friendly. Seem, even, wasn’t the right word-- it wasn’t friendly, by any means, especially when you had a car like the Black Lion and drove into the domain of the Duke.

   Which...happened to be relevant. Getting chased down in a high-speed run wasn’t exactly in Shiro’s plans for the day, but here he was nonetheless. Not knowing the streets never helped someone get away fast, either, and once another car [another one...how did this place have so many anyway?] came into view in the rear-view mirror, Shiro accepted this as a likely defeat.

   Oh...Allura would kill him if he lost the Black Lion now.

( without excess description you manage to encapsulate and communicate his inherent tenderness and concern for those closest to him. in addition, there’s those accents of concealed dorkiness in casual interactions that i adore and appreciate so much? you do a splendid job depicting and detailing all aspects of his character without favoring one component over another. and, honestly, that balance extends to your entire interpretation? you’ve accomplished and manage an outstanding equipoise [2] ) ( in your characterization of shiro that’s no less exceptional than your numerous other wonderful interpretations. it would seem that history does indeed repeat itself because your standard in quality hasn’t lessened in the slightest. ♡ [3/3] )

shiro is at the very least demisexual-- he doesn’t strike me personally as the type to focus on sexual attraction towards people. i feel as if he’d fit the criteria of “requiring a strong emotional bond before starting to feel any sort of sexual desire towards a partner.” on this note, he doesn’t quite strike me as fully asexual-- he’s a passionate man with strong emotions (the time that comes to mind is the sendak cryopod incident) and while i could see it, i’m more inclined to believe he’s on the gray spectrum and not ace

i want to make a short psa really quick regarding the confirmed ages and shipping--

i’ve already updated my rules, but

my tl’s been nothing but ship and age discourse for the last day, and while it’s good to have confirmed ages, i’m not a fan of the arguments and hate going on among people i know and don’t. i’m not a fan of the ‘o since shiro’s so much older now he can just be w allura.’ and i’m not a fan of talking about this in length

if i see someone posting ship hate or causing problems, i’m going to unfollow. i don’t usually unfollow, but i’m tired and weary of ship discourse. i’m of the mind that people ship or don’t ship what they want and just leave it at that. everyone’s got opinions and biases, so go wild kids. if you dislike something you don’t have to make a stink about it. don’t like something someone’s posting?? ask them to tag it. they don’t tag it? unfollow or block, and shoot them a message explaining KINDLY why you’re unfollowing (esp if their rules state they freak out when unfollowed suddenly). easy steps to avoid drama
