The Devil is not above kidnapping a Winner to help his daughter, and so Alastor wakes up in Hell.

Alastor dies during the Extermination, and his Shadow takes over to avenge him and keep his legacy alive.

The Angels of Hell AU:

Emily, Abel and Peter finds out about the Exterminations before Canon, and decide to try and help Hell.,

Valentino tries to shoot Cherri Bomb and the others during Welcome To Heaven, and Sir Pentious jumps in to take the bullet.

Only to open his eyes in front of a bewildered Charlie and the entire angelic court.

Exactly what it says – Sera and Pentious go back in time, and their friendship freaks out everyone.

Spoilers for Nod-Krai Archon Quest

Here is an AU that I keep thinking about.

Emily finds out about the Exterminations before Canon, and both she, Abel and Saint Peter decide to try and help sinners in Hell.

Emily hears someone – an Exorcist on their day off – mention the Exterminations. Maybe they don’t use the word “exterminations”, but the mention of death and sinners is enough to catch Emily’s attention.

Curious, she looks into it but can’t find anything (Sera made sure of it), and she ends up asking St Peter and Abel about it.

Peter doesn’t know, and it’s not clear in canon whether Abel knew about the Exterminations or not. He knew about the Exorcists, but I think everyone did – they are Heaven’s army. That doesn’t mean he was aware of them committing genocide, and I don’t see Adam telling his son about it. However, since Adam doesn’t really care about his son, Abel has no problems sneaking into his father’s office.

So in this AU, Abel doesn’t know, but he’s friends with Emily and when she asks him to look into it, he does.

And he finds out about the Exterminations.

They are horrified, and Emily confronts Sera, who gives excuses and excuses but does not relent and makes Emily swear not to speak of it.

Of course, Emily being Emily, she immediately decides to find a way to help those sinners. But though she might be a Seraphim, there’s not much she can do in Heaven, not when the angels are the ones agreeing to this massacre.

Well, if she can’t do anything in Heaven, the only solution is to go to Hell and help sinners!

Abel and Peter are horrified at the idea, but they’re even more horrified at the idea of Emily going alone.

Only Abel ends up going with her as Peter’s absence would be noticed – Heaven needs a Gatekeeper, after all. The other two disguise themselves as demons and sneak through a portal.

Rumours about weirdly kind and powerful demons helping sinners spread throughout the Pride Ring, but no one is able to find them.

I don’t know yet if I want them to be the ones to create the Hotel to redeem sinners, or if they just join the others in the pilot/season one. Either way, they go back and forth between Heaven and Hell, spending more and more time in Hell as they realise how complex sinners are.

Alastor finds out when he’s a teenager that his father cheated on his mother – which he kind of expected from a disgusting man like him – but what takes him aback is that he also finds out he has a little sister. Her name is Louisa and she’s ten years younger than him, and he has no idea how to deal with her because on one hand, he despises everything that has to do with that monster he calls father, but on the other hand, this girl is completely innocent.

Louisa’s mother is a prostitute who sees her as a mistake, and her father will never acknowledge her, so she ends up in an orphanage when her mother dies.

Alastor kills his father when he’s in his early twenties and tries to adopt his sister, but they won’t let him and deem him unfit, saying he’s too young, that he won’t be able to support the both of them, that they have no proof that they are related (DNA tests weren’t a thing back then), and though they don’t say it, they’d rather not let a mixed person take care of a white girl. Never mind that she is treated horribly in the orphanage.

Still, Alastor tries to visit when he can, even though it’s pretty awkward as they have little in common besides a father they either hate or don’t know. They love each other, but their relationship is a little tense. Alastor is jealous that she never had to live with their father. Louisa is jealous that he had at least one parent who loved him.

That doesn’t stop Alastor from killing any man who thinks they can get handsy with his little sister just because she has no parents, or Louisa from punching anyone who insults her brother.

Alastor is killed when Louisa is a teenager/barely an adult, and she’s left to fend for herself, stabbing a few people who get too close. Maybe Mimzy helps her, if she died after Alastor – after all, he was her friend and girls got to stick together.

Louisa gets killed by a man who wouldn’t take no for an answer and ends up in Hell as a deer demon, because Hell likes dramatic irony like that – they looked nothing alike while on Earth and that kept them apart, and now that they’re in Hell, their likeness put them in danger since Alastor is an Overlord.

Though she’s a deer demon, her colours are more dark green unlike Alastor’s blood red, to remind them of their differences.

No one really knows about her, as Louisa dislikes being in the spotlight, except Mimzy and maybe Niffty. Husk knows that Alastor has a close friend or family member he spends the Exterminations with, but nothing beyond that.

Abel – The Leader of the Exorcists

In this AU, Abel is the one leading the Exorcists.

Unlike Canon!Adam who killed demons gleefully, Abel truly sees it as a necessary evil and as a way to keep the people of Heaven safe. He doesn’t like fighting, but that only makes him more deadly – he’s the kind of person who wants to finish a fight as quickly as possible.

No one kept him safe while he was alive, not when evil pushed his own brother to kill him. Abel won’t let those people hurt his own.

He doesn’t believe in redemption, though he knows that things aren’t black and white. Cain loved him once, after all. It just wasn’t enough.

Adam – The Hermit

Adam is still angry in this AU, though that anger is mostly aimed at himself.

Both of his wives abandoned him, his eldest son killed one of his other children, and all of his descendants suffered.

He resents Heaven and how they treated his family, though he doesn’t hate them – he’s too old and tired for that.

He stays away from people, living away from most angels and only visiting his sons occasionally. More often than not, they are the ones coming to see him.

I've seen some role reversal au floating around, and I wanted to try my hand at it! Those ideas have been haunting me for days.

Alastor and Charlie - Role Reversal

Alastor – The Hotel Founder

In this AU, Alastor is the one who opens the “Hazbin Hotel,” a place dedicated to reforming sinners.

Alastor landed in Hell when he was younger (early twenties) alongside his mother. They were both killed by his father, though Alastor managed to take him down with them.

Because his mother is here, Alastor knows that the system is flawed – after all, if someone as wonderful as his mother landed in Hell, then something is definitely wrong.

The real reason for his mother to be in Hell is that she blames herself for not stepping in earlier and stopping her husband from killing her son, kind of like Pentious didn’t do anything to help during his life in the series.

So both of them are in Hell, and they both agree that something is wrong as there are a lot of people who don’t deserve to be here – mere thieves or those who murdered in self-defence.

Eventually, his mother is killed by an Overlord while Alastor is away.

After his mother’s death, he goes on a rampage and kills almost all the Overlords in Hell, broadcasting their screams like in Canon.

The legend of the Radio Demon spreads throughout Hell, but no one knows what he looks like or even his name since Alastor kept a low profile until now.

He disappears for seven years, this time to grieve, to get stronger and to decide what to do next.

Alastor comes back as a simple radio host preaching the idea of an hotel rehabilitating sinners, and that’s when it all starts.

Charlie – The Princess of Hell and Hotelier

Unlike Canon, Charlie never met Vaggie (more on that in a later post).

She is incredibly lonely and socially awkward, and without her girlfriend’s or her parents’ support, she never had the courage to start the Hotel.

She’s always wanted to help, to do something meaningful for Hell — but she never did, not when no one believed in her. She stayed in the palace with her mother, quietly dreaming but never doing anything.

Then she hears a rumour: A mad demon has opened a hotel where sinners can seek redemption.

To most of Hell, it’s a joke — but to Charlie, it’s a miracle. Someone is finally doing what she’s always dreamed of. So she leaves the safety of her family’s palace, for perhaps the first time, and goes to see it herself.

Her status and the information she can get them is what convinces Alastor to let her stay even though he really dislikes the Royal Family.

Charlie is disconnected from sinners, and often walks over them without meaning to, which puts a distance between her and the others (a little like Alastor put some distance with the others in canon, though Charlie isn’t doing it on purpose). Her naivety and the way she treats sinners somewhat in a somewhat condescending way – the princess who has no idea what a human life is like – makes it sometimes hard for guest to connect with her.

I'm hoping for a scene like this:

Emily: You don't need to worry now, you're in Heaven!

St Peter: You are surrounded by angels!

Sir Pentious: Precisely! I've never met a kind angel before!

Lucifer, under the impression that Alastor is incapable of respect, is deeply shocked and jealous to see how he treats Zestial.

Lucifer: What's so special about him anyway?

Alastor: Why, he is the most ancient Overlord! It would be quite foolish of me not to respect him.

Spoilers for recent chapters

Luffy’s fate doesn’t change much. Dragon doesn’t want his son to grow up as a criminal, especially as the son of the worst criminal in the world. Shamrock’s childhood was happy in the sense that Dragon raised him to be good and with love, but he still grew up running from one place to another to avoid the Marines (read: Garp) while helping slaves and organising peaceful protests. While Dragon kept his promise to the twins’ mother, Shamrock didn’t really have a choice in his life.

Spoilers for recent chapters

AU in which the people sent to investigate during the Turn Back The Pendulum Arc change.

Kensei and Mashiro still go, because it is the job of the 9th division to investigate, but when the situation becomes too dangerous, Yamamoto chooses different people to come assist them. Hiyori is still sent after them, because they need the expertise of the Twelfth Division, but it is during the following meeting that things change.

It is still Ushoda Hachigen who follows, his talents in Kidou far too valuable.

Instead of Hirako Shinji, the one sent is Sasakibe Chojiro – because Yamamoto’s lieutenant is as strong as the younger captains, so there is no reason for the old man to worry. Shinji stays behind, keeping a watchful eye on his lieutenant – or so he thinks, because he doesn’t know Aizen enough to notice that the man hidden by an illusion isn’t Aizen at all.

Instead of Aikawa Love, Ukitake Juushiro is sent – he is old and strong, trusted by Yamamoto, and he worries about the younger Shinigami.

Instead of Otoribashi Rose, Shihoin Yoruichi is sent – fast and ready to investigate the scene, confident in her experience and abilities as Captain of the Second Division.

Instead of Lisa, it is Kuchiki Sojun who comes along, because he may be sick but he is still a lieutenant and he has been feeling so much better lately, going as far as accompanying his father to the meeting, and so Kuchiki Ginrei isn’t worried – at least not more than usual – when Sojun volunteers to go.

And so they leave, never to come back.

They do not escape Aizen’s experiments, and the Hollowfication begins though its victims are slightly different.

Urahara and Tessai save them, as Urahara still came to save his lieutenant, and are framed for a crime they didn’t commit.

But it is not Yoruichi who saves them from Central 46. A disguised Soi Fon, young but oh so fast and furious, desperate to know what happened to her Captain because while she greatly dislikes Kisuke (but not hate, not when there is no betrayal and feeling of having been left behind for another) she wants answers and he has them. With her Captain’s life in danger, she doesn’t hesitate to follow Urahara.

And so they escape to the Living World.

Kaname Tousen still becomes the Captain of the Ninth Division, content to wait for Aizen’s instructions.

Shiba Kaien is promoted, becoming Captain of the Thirteenth Division but never quite managing to find a good lieutenant, at least not one who truly has the strength it takes. And when Kaien dies (or maybe disappears, who knows in this AU), it doesn’t take long for Aizen, always so diligent and hard working, to become the new Captain of the Thirteenth Division.

With Yoruichi and Soi Fon both gone, the Second Division is left greatly weakened. It is a division traditionally led by the Shihōin Family, but Shihōin Yūshirō is meant to be the Head of the Clan and too young anyway – and so the Second Division stumbles a little, temporarily held together by some members of the Ōmaeda Family until they can find a better candidate. And then comes along Ichimaru Gin, young but a prodigy like they’ve never seen before, with his ever present grin and creepy demeanour, never betraying his thoughts and feelings – yes, Captain of the Second Division is a title that fits him perfectly.

Yamamoto names his third seat, Okikiba Genshirō, as his new lieutenant – but it is a heavy title to bear, and the name Sasakibe Chojiro haunts the First Division.

Needless to say, a lot of things change – and the battle of Karakura is even more emotionally charged than it would have been otherwise.
