     the clock reads fifteen past eleven as emily ushers in her late eleven o’clock appointment.   ❝   do you not know how to read a clock or are you generally this inconsiderate of other people’s time ?  ❞    miranda’s voice remaining calm and even despite the immense frustration felt inside. she makes a point not to so much as glance at the girl until she makes an adequate response.

Camille is an only child, an only grandchild for that matter. Her family doesn’t have many people her own age in it. She has her mother, Sylvia (or maman to Camille), and papa, Frédéric, in her immediate family. Both rather set in their ways, strict, demanding. Those sorts of people. Expectant of their child, wanting her to succeed and give their family a good name - allow them to brag to their friends whenever they got the chance. A similarity they shared with her father’s mother, who much like her parents was quite the one to boast. It always confused Camille, for her pépé was unlike that. 

It was her grandfather, Christophe, that Camille bonded with the most. Both similar in their ways unlike the other members of her family. There was no other mouton noir, as he would say which would always make her laugh just a little. Saturday’s were their days, in which Camille would get up early in anticipation of having someone to spend time with that understands the truth of what she likes. Not being forced to learn piano,  a lesson that came the day after - always at three in the afternoon with Mademoiselle Laffitte. No, on Saturdays, Camille got to the market and choose out the ingredients for the baking they would do. Or, they’d set the radio in the garden and read together while her grandmother and her parents would chat away about boring adult things that she never cared for. 

Her aunts, particularly on her mother’s side were similar. All pretty materialistic, learned to marry into wealth. Which, Camille didn’t mind as long as they were happy. Hoped that it was there choice at least - however likely that was in the Marseille family.

Camille refused to whine though. She had a good life. A wealthy family, she never had any money troubles growing up - or any troubles at all for that matter. In all honesty, she was rather spoilt. Expensive clothes from her mother who devoted a decent portion of her time to taking Camille shopping as she got older. Her father would be there to provide her with a car and help fund her studies. She had it good. 

                              A     tilt     of     her     head     and     she’s     smiling     brightly,     nodding,     “     mkay     !     Totes,     what’re     we     watching     ?     ”     Shoes     are     kicked     off     and     she’s     moving     to     sit     next     to     her,     head     leaning     against     her     shoulder,     turning     to     whisper     in     her     ear,     “     Je     veux     être     avec     toi,     peu     importe     où.     ”     The     words     are     soft,     trying     to     ease     any     type     of     insecurities     from     her,     “     you’re     warm.     ”     A     soft     sigh     and     she’s     scooting     closer     to     her.    

“ There are greater things to dream about. ” Camille admit with a shrug but offered a small smile anyways. Let herself mindlessly spin her cardboard coffee cup in her hand without a second thought, a habit she had picked up since ELDEN. She focused on trying to LIGHTEN THE CONVERSATION, somehow. No need to let the past make the present a struggle. “ But, it’s JUST A DREAM... Better ones will come, I’m sure of it. ”

“ It’s SO COLD OUTSIDE, here it’s comfortable. ” Camille offers a small smile to the other, keeping herself settled on the couch. Blanket wrapped around her just for extra comfort. She nodded her head towards the TV and raised an eyebrow. Trying to convince the other to stay with her at least - which she realised probably sounded EXTREMELY PATHETIC. However, she had nothing else to do and spending time with Cher sounded nice. “ Regardons plutôt un film. ”
