elaborating on one of my points about hummer being the leviathan: i'm seeing a lot of ppl interpret hummer as entirely not being real, but i think he is real. or, at least, as real as the leviathan itself is.
i mean, this entire video is centered around the idea of things existing if you believe in them. that's how it ends, and hell, that's how it starts: wifies points out that people tend to see what they want to see, and applies that concept directly to the leviathan sightings. and in the end, we get proof that the leviathan is real, but only once wifies proves his faith in its existence.
i said earlier that the leviathan exists in a schrodinger's box-like space, in which it is simultaneously real and yet not real. the only way of confirming its existence is to open the box, which wifies does by allowing himself to drown in what he now believes to be its presence.
and that's how hummer presents himself: exclusively to wifies, because wifies wants him to be real. wifies reaches out to hummer, he emails him, he looks for him. and hummer responds! hummer responds to him, because wifies genuinely wants to figure out whether or not the leviathan is real, rather than treat it as a gimmick or a hoax. and his character is centered around the idea if you simply believe in the leviathan, if you call out to it, it will appear. exactly as wifies did for hummer.
essentially, the question should not be whether or not hummer is real, just as much as it shouldn't be a question of whether or not the leviathan is real. define "real," here, anyway. a player? a piece of code? something with thoughts and feelings? something that exists? hummer ticks some of these boxes for certain.
the leviathan, we learn, is real to wifies. and so is hummer.
