yeah i drive the truck that isekais all those lonely 20yo NEETs and bored salarymen. it’s a really hard job. they keep sending me to workplace counselling after each hit. “it’s normal to feel guilt at ending someone’s life,” they say. how do i tell them that’s not what makes me feel guilty? “but it’s okay. he’ll live a better life in another world.” yeah, with 100 girls who could have lived normal lives but got drafted into being in these boring dudes’ harems. how many women’s lives have i ruined. and they don’t even know. they don’t even know
Sounds like you need "His Soul is Marching On to Another World; or, the John Brown Isekai" by CabbagePreacher, an actual fic on AO3 about famed abolitionist martyr John Brown getting isekaied to such a world and going on a rampage abolishing harems.
New Talent Showcase 2017 “What We Talk About When We Talk About Family”
“My family versus your army. Let’s rumble.” “I got dibs on the freak.”
Forget the west I’d like this cowboy to get wild wild on me yknowwhaimsayin 😏

riize album drop dayyyyyy now that im home and at my laptop i can do a proper listen. tho i fear my first impression on the bus this morning was. hm.
soar: thought i was gonna really really love this based on the preview bc i adore when sohee gets to sing his lungs out and the boys lean into being more melodic. chorus is absolutely beautiful but raps are not well integrated which took a lot away from my enjoyment. i hate the way the music pulls away from the melody nearly every time someone starts rapping its so jarring like i promise you can integrate rap neatly and beautifully into a melodic song!!!!!!!!!! who is writing their raplines!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DYD (Do your dance): aka the title track i was supremely worried about when i heard the trailer bc every group this cb season has been doing some shitty rip-off rap track that makes my blood boil. anyways better than i feared, def intended as a dance-y track but tbh not that good to me. seriously who tf is writing their raps and why are they incapable of writing smth that feels genuine to the group.
repetitive as hell (which i actually don't mind, i love an earworm) and the dancing in the mv is great but their dances are generally great. i like the bridge and chorus, i wish they leaned more into the bridge lyricism for the rest of the song. love a dance break but i hate the abrupt shift in tone they added for that. making sohee and anton rap in particular is a crime to me personally btw. they don't sound bad but they don't sound good either and the official riize rap line has always been solidly mid (no offense to my beautiful princess sungchan and babygirl shotaro) so idk what they thought they were doing with this. AND their raps suck.
D-D-Done: YOU AND I WILL LAST FOREVER YOU AND I WILL LAST FOREVER again, banger chorus and bridge and i don't even mind the rapping though theres hate in my heart at the 'wassuppppp' bit. so fun and energetic and frankly i think will have better staying power than DYD. wish it was longer!!!!
Overdrive: ok if they wanted to go with a rap heavy track for TT they absolutely should have gone with overdrive?????????? sungtaro's intro rap in particular has great flow and feels much more in line with their individual but very similar styles of rap. and overdrive still retains that very riize-typical vocalization courtesy of wonbin and sohee in particular. vocals from all of them are lovely in this one but i really like antons lil verse towards the end. feels like riize fr.
actually had to pause and see what the yt comments say (i've been trying to avoid that) but i canNOT be the only person thinking this is better than DYD. unfortunately i may be the only person on the entire planet with an objectively correct opinion : /
Like a Bomb: ok i really like this one too. i love when they sing abouot love and this was very like? bright? almost cute? somehow also lowkey. idk i really like this one. def could jam out to it. sohee sounds so at home with this one. i can't wait for the performance version to drop at some point bc i feel like it'll be very fun!! riize core to me
In a Loop: to me, riize is very fresh and clean in their music and that's the draw to me. like they can do various genres, but unless there's that particular crispness to the song, it doesn't feel like riize. this feels like riize. love song core, a little bit cute, youthful and bright, leaning into the vocals of everyone, lots of layering, all sections feel incredibly cohesive. i think d-d-done is still my favorite but this one is up there. thank god bc i was really worried with the first two tracks...

I think one of the most insidious things about our current era of patriarchy is how much we are bombarded with women who appear to choose their own objectification, enjoying their own objectification and selling it as confidence and fun. The message being that any discomfort with patriarchy is prudish and unfeminine and underconfident. That this discomfort must come from our own ugliness and shame, something to hide and be insecure about, and that criticism of objectification is criticism of women ourselves. That we’re jealous and mean. Men are almost completely taken out of the picture- as executives, as photographers, as directors and consumers of our bodies and sexuality. The objectification of women is done by women, to women, and any repercussions will fall onto women. We are entirely self contained whilst men are free to watch from outside and consume our sexuality regardless.
