It Happened One Night...

“To my eldest,  I’m sorry for leaving you so soon, and keeping so much from you. You’ve got a strong spirit and a good heart, and I know so much’s been troubling you, and it hasn’t been getting much easier with the years. Ignore your mom, but play nice with your brother.

“To my youngest, Nothing has ever pained me more than the moment I knew this curse had plagued our blood. I had thought the exposure to my wrongdoings would help educate you on the things to come in your way as a necessary evil, but no evil should stain a child’s eyes and rob them of their soul.  and no one has ever have had more faith and unconditional trust in me, than you had. Your honest to god innocence in a sense had saved me, but it seems everything I did only stole more of that light away from your eyes. 

And even in saving you i’ve left another curse to keep your restless soul up into the night. 

“I never meant to hurt you..

I was so caught up in my demons and delusioned and entangled in the mess I had made I never slowed down enough to be there for you. It was the booze and the drugs and the pull of the moon that kept dragging me along and I was a monster for pulling you along in it.

And leaving you alone with your mother was the worst sin I’ve ever committed.
