In 2026, the Nintendo New York store has started using branded receipt paper that is decorated with gold Mario objects on the back.

A relatively obscure music track in the Paper Mario soundtrack is "Happy Sun" (unofficial name given by the community since the track does not appear on the official soundtrack CD).

When the Sun Tower is visited during Chapter 6 while the Sun is being prevented from shining by the clouds created by Huff N. Puff, a sad song (commonly called "Sad Sun") plays in the area. After destroying the source of the clouds, the player then sees the Sun ascend in a cutscene, and has absolutely no completionist reason to ever go back to this area since it is barren and has no collectibles.

However, if the player does go out of the way to return to the Sun Tower after completing the chapter, this original "Happy Sun" music will play. It is bizarre that the developers decided to dedicate two unique pieces of music to an area that has nothing in it except an NPC that needs to be talked to exactly once.

本日『ロードス島戦記 ファリスの聖女』が発売されました。これは『ロードス島戦記』における魔神戦争という事件の漫画版になります。『ロードス島戦記』といえば、当初 Basic D&D でプレイされたことや『ルールサイクロペディア』の翻訳をグループ SNE が担当したことなど、D&D と縁のある作品として、印象に残っています。

山田章博の漫画「ロードス島戦記」完全版で復刊、イラスト集も付属

魔神戦争は『ロードス島戦記』の主人公、パーンやディードリットが活躍する時代の 30 年前に起きた事件です。ベルドやウォートといったのちの大英雄の若かりし頃の物語です。

『ロードス島戦記』のパーンらの Basic D&D 版キャラクタシートがありましたので共有します。ここから、物語が始まったかと思うと、感慨深いですね。

Top two images: in Luigi's Mansion, the bills found throughout the game as one of the money collectibles are worth 20,000 G each.

Third image: however, looking very closely at the bills in-game reveals they actually read "10,000" on them.

Last image: extracting the textures for the bills from the game's files confirms this. The bills (note that green and brown bills are actually just two cosmetic skins for the same item and have no functional difference) all read "10,000 G" or "10,000 GOLD".

It is clear that the developers originally intended each bill to be worth 10,000 G and then "rebalanced" the money value to be 20,000 G. It is possible that the intent was that it would be too difficult to see the texture at the game's original resolution for this to be an issue.

Officially licensed 2006 keychains of a Buzzy Beetle and a Spike Top that took liberties with their design where instead of making their beaks a 3D shape, the beaks were represented by a line drawn on their faces. In addition, the shadow that is normally cast across their eyes is absent as well.

This gave both of them the appearance of smiling, though in a friendly way with the Buzzy Beetle and a mischievous way with the Spike Top.
