If you have to pick ONE THING about Richie that is cute what is it?!

Definitely his stupid obnoxious laugh. It’s contagious. Even when I don’t want to smile, I hear it and I can’t help myself.

Honestly, Richie rarely lets on to when he’s upset or bothered. But as the self proclaimed best friend it’s my job to know when he’s faking it. And I usually do. It’s hard to cheer him up when he pretends he’s fine when he clearly isn’t. I mostly just pester him until he’s smiling again. Not to brag, but I’m pretty good at that. Seems to work for me most of the time.

Or I just hang around him a lot until he comes around so he’s not alone dealing with whatever it is that’s bothering him in that busy mind of his.

Story time!

When we were little Ma hated Richie. He was always looking like a disaster child, super hyper, rambunctious and generally just a lot to handle. Ma thought he’d be a bad influence on me so she didn’t want us to be friends. I told him that we couldn’t be friends because of what she said. Next thing I know, he shows up at my door “dressed up” in a super baggy button down, mismatched socks and pants that were way too big on him. Looking back, he might have even been wearing two different shoes. He came over trying to look neat and proper to convince my Ma that he wasn’t a delinquent, like he could prove he was good enough to be my friend by trying to make a new first impression. I know we were really little, but I think it started there.

I don’t. Every day is agonizing. Watching my best friend be a felon is hard. It’s really taking it’s toll on me. Hahahahelpme.

I know Eds comes off like a feral cat sometimes and he has such a cute grumpy face when he is annoyed, but he’s actually a very smiley kid. He laughs and smiles a lot. Mostly cuz of me. You’re welcome by the way.

He’s generally pretty happy, but I think his occasional pissy attitude sometimes makes us forget that. I swear I don’t make him angry 24/7.

He really does have the cutest smile though.
