Hey so get this (GLaDOS you’ll want to hear this to) Black Mesa messed up (shocker I know) but this time it’s borderline stupidity. So in an effort to replicate aperture’s teleportation research they conducted some anomalous materials experiments that involved an extradimensional crystal and a suped-up anti-mass spectrometer, as one can imagine this resulted in a resonance cascade that punched a hole clear into another universe, witch was filed with hostile aliens with technology so advanced they conquered earth in 7 hours. Now as far as anyone’s concerned the entirety of north and parts of South America are completely uninhabited. At least, by anything human.
Hmm... Interesting. I always knew Black Mesa would cause the world to burn. I didn’t realize that it was them that caused everything. Funny. Although it does explain what was happening shortly before Chell killed me. As for the human population... I believe your data may be out of date. Shortly after waking up, I saw some humans nearby. I had been looking for a young deer, but instead I saw a group of humans. Perhaps I could aquire some new subjects if the time ever came for human testing again.
Hey GLaDOS, if we can still ask you questions, how did you feel when you realized Chell was dying? I mean, you did mention she is your best friend, was it emotion that prompted you to put her in a core instead of letting her die?
My feelings should speak for themselves, do they not? I kept her alive in a sense and I wasn’t going to let my only friend die horribly. So I would say... yes. It was the last thing Caroline wanted before I deleted her.
Is this blog alive? Anyways... i really enjoyed it and i wanted to ask, what was the inspiration behind it?
((Hi, yes! I am working on getting it back up. The last couple years have been hard on my creativity, but I am working on getting this going again soon.
((As for my inspiration? I got to thinking about how sick Chell would be on the surface after coming into contact with Old Aperture things. GLaDOS also called Chell her best friend. So I got to thinking what could happened to allow Chell to live and recover?
((I sketched out a Core idea and it spiraled from there.))

((I know it’s been a long time and I promised I would be back. I just hit a period of art block when it came to this blog. No, I am not deleting this blog or anything of the like as I still love this AU, but I felt I owed an explanation. I just lost my inspiration. I felt like I had to do this for a while and I think that burnt me out for a while. I have also been devoting a lot of my time to a fanfic that has become a big part of me over the last two years. I’m the author of a fic called ‘Second Life Choices’ on AO3. It’s a half life and portal crossover. It’s nearing the end so once that is finished, I can spend more time on this story. That brings me to the next point! Good news! My art spark is coming back and you can expect to see more from Chell really soon. I’ve been working on my art, and I have been drafting up some story lines for this blog so don’t worry about that. In the mean time, just hang tight. Because after all, I am still alive ))
Though the questions are on hold i do have one How did your long fall boots hold up in old aperture when wheatley punched you into there and how did you even feel in the testing spheres?
Funny you should ask that...
The boots held up great! The landing wasn’t bad, but I neglected to see the falling rubble and hit my head. It knocked me out just long enough to see GLaDOS get carried off by that bird. As for the spheres...
Yeah... I think my current state of being answers that question...
You still going to post? I find your blog very interesting and I want to see more.
((I really want to get back to this. The last few months have just been hard on me mentally and physically. Between family obligations and work, I haven’t had as much time to get to this as I have wanted. ((I hope to get this going back up real soon though. I have a plotline for Chell and the others, I just need to find my creative spark again.))
That thing that keeps trying to get on your head is a "headcrab", known as a parasite that would leap onto ones head to eat the eyes, nose, lips and brain, it also made those it attached itself to become VERY hostile, almost zombie like in nature.
Then this must be one of those times I should be happy to not have a human body... It seems more confused by me than anything. I think I’ll take it back to Aperture later.

Im pretty sure one of the cores said that they saw a chicken in one of the levels that have yet to have been reclaimed, maybe she gets those eggs from there?
Well, I remember finding a clipboard with a chicken on it once during my first escape attempt. Who knows? She probably has some sort of hidden hatchery for testing chickens that I haven’t found yet.
Was there anything quote "alien" on the surface when you got out? Such as weird ships and such?
Other than that weird thing that looked like a whale with a propeller and cannon attached, I found whatever this thing is. It likes to sit on my head for some reason…

I don't know how long you've been down here, I hope nothing bad has happened on the surface.
Something tells me that something bad did happen…
She really wants to keep you down here doesn't she?... It's summer though. With a little luck, another storm will send something else malfunctioning, and you'll get to see the surface again. There's got to be someone out there that will know how to deal with the signal problem.
I’m not sure if she actually wants to keep me here. I’m apparently allowed to use the chassis to go up to the surface when I want, but can’t venture past the barrier lines of Aperture. That still gives me a lot of room to explore. It started to rain the other day, but I could see a building in the distance. I plan on exploring it soon.
