Presenting: Your Disastrous Life!
Chapter 1: Your Super Secret Power!
Your name is (Name) (Last Name), and you were blessed with psychic powers! Well, blessed is a strong word. It was more like a curse. Pyrokinesis, the ability to create and control fire. The thing is, you can't really control it. One sneeze and you're accidentally lighting your damn homework on fire!
So, when you finally transferred to a public school, you were worried. What if you lit a desk on fire and let everyone know about your super secret powers? What if you set a person on fire?!
So far, everything was going fine with hiding your powers. You've gone your whole first day of school without charring your lunch or burning off someone's clothes. That was until you were walking and you ran into him. He was that weird pink haired guy who never spoke, wore bright green sunglasses, and had two little antenna clips in his hair. You were so startled that you jumped back, causing the magazine in your hand to catch fire and fall into a pile of ash on the ground.
You stared at each other for a long while, your eyes wide and your face pale. You swallowed, glancing down at the pile of ash before looking back up at him. You had to come up with an excuse.
"Play dumb!" You thought.
"Oh woah, my magazine disappeared!"
The guy raised a brow, glancing down at the ash again before looking up at you. Then you heard him speak. Well, not really, his mouth didn't even move.
"Good grief, another one."
Your eyes widened, "W-Woah, wait a minute!" You pointed at him, "You've got powers too?! Have you known about mine the whole time?!"
The guy grimaced, the most emotion you'd seen him give this whole school day. He pointed to the pile of ash on the sidewalk.
"Pyrokinesis, is that right? Doesn't look like you've got much control." He raised a brow, "You're (Last Name), right?"
You stared at him, your mouth agape. You shook off your initial shock and immediately nodded. "Uh... Yeah, that's me! You can just call me by my first name though, I don't mind." You smiled awkwardly, "You're uh... Saiki, right?"
He nodded once, adjusting his bag on his shoulder, "You were born with these powers, correct?"
"Yep!" You fidgeted with your sleeves, "Weirdly enough I can't really control them, even if I've had them since birth." You paused, your eyes widening. "Wait, you could-"
"Not a chance." He immediately responded, looking completely disinterested. "Your powers, your problem. I'm not helping you."
You scoffed, "What?! C'mon, please? I'll pay you!"
"Still a no. I've got better things to do." He started to walk off, stepping right past you.
You huffed, frustrated with his disinterest. "Fine, be like that!" You exclaimed, a garbage can suddenly catching fire right beside him.
Saiki jumped, slowly turning to look at you. You stood frozen, shocked by your own mistake. You both stared at each other for the longest time before he sighed and motioned for you.
"Come on, we can go to my house. I'll try to help you."
Your eyes lit up, "Really? Thanks so much!"
Saiki didn't look at you, just continued walking with that same bored expression, "Don't mention it. I'm only helping you because clearly you're a danger to everyone and yourself."
The moment you walked through the door you were met with Saiki's mother, who had been sweeping the hallway leading towards the front door. Her eyes lit up when she saw you, glancing between you and Saiki.
"Oh, Ku! Did you make another friend? How wonderful!" She set the broom aside and approached you, "I'm Kusuo's mother, Kurumi Saiki!"
You were a bit startled by her enthusiasm but found it sweet. You gave her a warm smile and polite bow, "It's nice to meet you, ma'am. I'm (Name) (Last Name)."
"Ah, you're so polite!" The woman practically squealed, taking your hand in both of hers, "It's so wonderful that my Ku has such a kind person as a friend! Let me know if you need anything while you're over!"
"Of course, ma'am." You answered before she released you. You followed Saiki up to his room, glancing around the house curiously.
