I’m watching Star Trek: Generations and everyone’s mad at Data for pushing Dr. Crusher into the water. “It’s not funny” they said. “It wasn’t a good joke” they said. “It’s only funny when it happens to Worf” they didn’t say but they implied. Fuck off! It was hilarious. Haven’t y’all seen a goddamn teen comedy? Once one person gets pushed into the pool, everyone gets pushed into the pool. Then it’s a pool party! Data’s only mistake was not capsizing the whole boat.

TNG repeatedly tried to make it seem like Data didn’t get humor because he was an android but all it really succeeded in doing was making it seem like Data didn’t get humor because all the humans around him were terrible at explaining it.
