apparently Deltarune is finally tomorrow, or rather today, and I was planning to make a theory video about Ralsei, but I’ve been putting it off. So I’ll just post the theory/script here and see what randoms on tumblr think. So tell me, what do you think of

RALSEI DOLL THEORY

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a theory. The Ralsei plush is canon.

Three of the most popular theories about what Ralsei is are: 

Ralsei is Kris’s lost horned headband

Ralsei is a green crayon

Ralsei is Kris’s fursona / imaginary friend

BUT I SAY THAT THEY ARE ALL WRONG!!! Well, except for maybe green crayon theory? Maybe.

I think we’re all forgetting some things.

Castle Town is in a CLOSET. What would Kris’s horned headband be doing halfway across town in a school closet? Why would an imaginary friend be in a school closet?

Darkners are objects (tangible things!!!!) that only gain consciousness from “darker than dark” darkness. This doesn’t make sense for imaginary friend theory, so Ralsei HAS to be an object.

Ralsei does not have any knowledge of Kris’s past, so he can’t be the horned headband, or else he’d be talking like the Darkners in TV World. If Ralsei had knowledge of Kris’s past, there would be a hint dropped somewhere.

You might disagree with me on this point, but just hear me out. Ralsei was about to say what he was in the chapter 3 monologue while talking about Darkners being objects. So imaginary friend theory is off the table. Why would he suddenly switch from talking about objects to imaginary friends? It would make more sense for him to say that “Even, I, the one telling you this…I too, am just a doll.”

Why I think Ralsei is a doll:

We’ve seen precedent for this before. Seam is a doll who was left in the unused classroom, and his form did not change in the dark world.

It would make sense thematically and symbolically for Ralsei to be a doll.

There is some room to argue about green crayon theory because a green crayon is something that would be in the closet, but I still stand by doll theory.

The Unknowns:

If Ralsei doll theory is true, there are some glaring unknowns that I don’t really have the answers to, but maybe someone else can explain them.

Who made Ralsei? It would most likely be someone who’s a fan of Asriel, but that doesn’t exactly narrow it down. Everyone in HomeTown loves Asriel.

Why is Ralsei so knowledgeable? Maybe the spooky hands man has something to do with that?

Why is he the prince of Castle Town? Maybe he’s been there the longest, or it’s because he’s a special type of Darkner, as in, maybe plushie Darkners aren’t that common?

Why does Ralsei know what Kris and Susie’s homes look like? During the Darkner exposition dump in chapter 3, we are shown Kris’s hallway and what seems to be Susie’s room. How would Ralsei know what they look like if he’s a doll that’s been locked up in the school storage closet?

How can Ralsei move between dark worlds? Did the plushie get moved by the rory knight or something, idk man

Those are all the unknowns I can think of. If anyone has an answer to these unknowns, or has more unknowns to ponder, please do tell.

Disclaimer: I didn’t do extensive research to fool proof this theory, it’s just something I came up with and am going to stick with because I think it’s the most plausible. But if, somewhere in the game, there’s something that contradicts this theory and you think I’m just spouting garbage, please feel free to correct me!

ps. I realized that i am dumb. So about the the whole, what would Kris’s horned headband be doing across town in a closet thing is also applicable to a doll. What would a doll be doing in a school closet? Okay so…let’s just say that maybe it was accidentally left there or brought there by Asriel. Or someone in the Dreemurr family, because the doll was most likely made for Asriel. Kris and Noelle were said to play with unusual things, so why not play in unusual places sometimes, and accidentally leave a toy in the closet, leading to it staying there and being lost, much like the horned headband. So I guess horned headband theory is also not off the table…

A Deltarune/Undertale AU i came up with 

basically, Deltarune and Undertale are merged. Characters, setting, history, ect.

here’s the few character designs and lore I have so far. I also have a Tennaton design sketch on paper but it looks ugly, so I’ll post a better design later. Maybe. Speaking of design, I have Suzie wearing a bow because she implied in Deltarune that she wore them when she was younger. I thought it’d be cute to have her wear a bow here. And speaking of Suzie, Krusie is canon in this AU
