❌Please stop asking me for permission to use white sage!❌ First of all, the ONLY being that can give you permission is the plant. I have absolutely no right to speak on it's behalf. . I've had a ton of people sending me messages asking for "permission" because some top witchy account told them they need a Native's permission to use it, and it's endangered. White sage (neither species) is endangered BUT it is over harvested, usually from Native land, and there is a concern it will become endangered if it continues. . If you're uncomfortable using white sage, don't! There are plenty of substitutes (try rosemary or gum arabic for similar cleansing properties). If you feel especially drawn to white sage, use it, but do it in a respectful way, and get it from a sustainable source. OR, better yet, grow your own! It's a bit finicky but does well in a pot. If I can grow it in Upstate NY, you can grow it too 😜 . White sage will continue to hold it's properties regardless of if you're granted permission by a human or not. However, it absolutely may not work if you are disrespectful to the plant or it's energies. . Bottom line, my "permission" no place in your sacred space. You do what you *feel* is right. Do some research and decide whether you feel comfortable or not. Be respectful to our culture and the plant, and you will be respected back. . Just please stop asking me!
