Juliet Diaz is an indigenous practitioner who has a long history of brujería and curanderos within her family. Labeling herself as a plant witch, she teaches the readers of this book the basics of what a plant witch is.
I think the thing I loved the most about this book, beyond the compendium of 200 different plants, is how Diaz goes into ways to connect more with nature throughout the book. She uses not only examples of her own experiences but detailed explanations and even spells to get more connected with nature's cycles.
Beyond looking into spell work I appreciate how within the compendium Diaz includes medicinal properties of the plants if any, the magical correspondences and how to work with the plants wisdom (a concept that works with more animism centered practices).
In the end I think the one thing I will say is that its definitely worth the buy and Juliet Diaz did a wonderful job.
