Many a time we need artistic release. To achieve something that’s outside the day to day humdrum; to break the monotony and to at times to make life beautiful again. My low risk - sure it may fail - project for 2022 was a manhole cover. Yes, a manhole cover. I wanted the #prettiest #manhole cover in #Mangalore. Yes, you read that right and you probably have the same expression my wife did when I told her about my project. The humble manhole is often neglected and while there instances of beautiful manhole covers worldwide, India isn’t a place where that pop culture exists. So on my adventure, I found a company based out of Lithuania who crafted this design for use on computerised machines and to my luck I found a wonderful company in Mangaluru that has a plasma machine that can cut such designs onto steel. My joy knew no bounds and off on an adventure we went. The proprietor was mildly amused by my request and eventually took great pains to make the design a reality, with practical suggestions on making it durable and easy to use. #Repost @nasa with @get_repost ・・・ Swirling cloud belts and tumultuous vortices within Jupiter’s northern hemisphere are seen in this view from a May flyby of the planet's cloud tops by our Juno spacecraft. Looking closer at this chaotic and turbulent world, we see darker cloud material that is deeper in Jupiter’s atmosphere, while bright cloud material is higher. The bright clouds are most likely ammonia or ammonia and water, mixed with a sprinkling of unknown chemical ingredients. A bright oval at bottom center stands out in the scene. This feature appears uniformly white in ground-based telescope observations. However, with Juno, we can observe the fine-scale structure within this weather system, including additional structures within it. There is not significant motion apparent in the interior of this feature; like the Great Red Spot, its winds probably slows down greatly toward the center. Since 2016 Juno has been penetrating Jupiter’s deep, colorful zones and belts in a quest to answer fundamental questions about the gas giant planet's origin and evolution.
