Destroy the idea that you have to be constantly working or grinding in order to be successful. Embrace the concept that rest, recovery, and reflection are essential parts of the progress towards a successful and ultimately happy life.
âSocialism never took hold in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat, but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.â - source disputed, but accurate
Itâs that simple.
This is why universal programs are important. Every single kid in my school got an eye test through the school at age 10. We just had some opticians come in and take over a room for a week to test every child. Testing for shit like colourblindness too. You need to test every single kid, or some of them will get missed. They might get missed because their parents donât have vision problems and missed the signs, they might get missed because their parents canât afford regular opticians visits, they might get missed because their parents couldnât afford glasses, or couldnât afford new lenses when a kidsâs prescription changed. but theyâll get missed, and thatâs really, really bad.
Systemic inability to afford glasses is terrible. I forget how lucky we are here to have the NHS. I mean, my mum hated her big blue NHS glasses, but she had them. And when I got glasses age 14 you got an ÂŁ80 voucher for kids frames, and then lenses were free. IDK what itâs like now what with the cuts and all, but universal access to basic healthcare is so important.
People underestimate the degree to which kids do badly in school because of vision problems. Personally, if I were helping a child who was failing, itâs one of the first things Iâd check.
With wealthier kids who actually get eye exams, and have their vision corrected to 20/20, itâs visual processing problems like difficulty converging at near or processing clutter or tracking. With poorer kids, it can be all of that, or just needing glasses.
And then kids grow up thinking theyâre stupid or lazy when really they just canât see.
Many people donât think of poor eyesight as a disability, but it is. You donât have to be legally blind to benefit from accommodations, i e eyeglasses.
This is why it pisses me off when yt leftists say the Black Panthers breakfast program was not ârevolutionary enoughâ. The mere act of surviving is resistance and revolutionary. When everyone wants your children dead, feeding them and ensuring their survival is resistance to the status quo. Fuck yt leftists. Yâall ainât shit.
âbut why would anyone transition if theyâre not dysphoric? why should non-dysphorics be allowed to transition?â
trans & nb people donât have to be dysphoric in order to dislike certain things about their body and want to change them or to feel that they would like their body more if certain things about it were different.
cis people are up in doctorâs offices getting work done on them literally every single dayâthere have even been multiple reality tv shows all about cis people getting extensive plastic surgery, often without having to jump through any hoops other than the ones necessary to get to their checkbooksâwithout experiencing dysphoria and yet when trans & nb people want to medically change their appearance in the slightest way suddenly y'all want to slam the doors shut and insist that theyâre not allowed to do shit with their own bodies unless they experience a sufficiently high amount of misery and self-hatred for themselves and their identity.
medical gatekeeping towards trans & nb people is transphobic. itâs based in a double standard that denies and limits access of care to trans & nb people specifically because they are trans & nb while it freely and easily gives the exact same care to any cis people who can afford it.Â
Not to mention that someone without dysphoria who wants to medically transition has the right to do that to feel better or get more enjoyment from life/their body/whatever even if they feel just fine now. People shouldnât have to settle for the bare minimum. As far as ik, many many people are encouraged to try to make their lives more rich and enjoyable, and that, logically, should also extend to trans/nb people regarding their transitions and what they want for themselves.

not to vague, but have you ever loved someone like truly loved them. and I mean with their flaws and everything and accepted that. Do you know how like consuming that is, and Iâm not talking about romantic love. I mean the power that comes with loving someone with like everything you have. through the good and the bad. through everything theyâve been through, through them doing things that shows how fundamentally flawed they are, and even in the sigh that you breathe that frustrates you, you can still feel it. how much you love them.Â
romance,,, isnât dead - the muses
sheâs trying (iâm she)
âIf her past was your past, her pain your pain, her level of consciousness your level of consciousness, you would think and act exactly as she does. With this realization comes forgiveness, compassion, and peace.â

i hate applying for jobs because the employers are always like: do you enjoy working in a stressful environment???? do you strive for unobtainable standards of perfection???? are you good at dealing with people that make you feel extremely uncomfortable??? do you mind losing real hours of your life in order to make minimum wage?? are you a fan of capitalism??? do you love selling your soul just so you can afford to live???

This is important!!! Also you can go through the thread for more info about this !!
Pass this on
Save yourself, Michael Seif
Iâm fairly certain America hinges now on propaganda that everything is okay and weâre still a first world nation when actually, our country is slipping further and further, and weâre really just. The best third world country out here. Not even comparable to most first world countries, so we fucking arenât one anymore
Sounds like we live in a police state where the rich tax the poor not to feed or protect them but to fund programs and legislature that defunds their resources and encourages them to die. The rich get richer and the middle class shrinks and suffocates while the entire country falls apart because corporate power greed refuses to see the consequences of their actions.
I wish I had the faith to believe what goes around comes around, but I think itâs time to understand that weâre the ones that need to come around and take action. The rich arenât going to do jack shit for us anymore. Even the rich that care about people on the bottom donât have the courage to help people en masse
Economically speaking, one of the foundations of a 1st world country is a strong middle class (source, my BBA in Economics and International Business), and itâs been abundantly clear that Americaâs middle class has been shrinking. Wages have been stagnant since pretty much the 1970â˛s, American CEOâs wage disparity is the highest in the world when compared to the average of their workers. Â
Basically, the us *isnât* a first world country anymore. Our economy may still be one of the highest (Iâm not sure if China has overtaken us yet), but our infrastructure is crumbling. Roads and school and bridges are in dire need of repair, our education system is laughable when you see how much money we have available for it. Military spending is out of control, often on things the military doesnât even need or want. All in the name of continuously soaring profits for the highest echelon of society, who never needed it to begin with. Â
Hereâs some expresses from a recent article about a UN official investigating poverty in the US:
âA United Nations official investigating poverty in the United States was shocked at the level of environmental degradation in some areas of rural Alabama, saying he had never seen anything like it in the developed world.
âI think itâs very uncommon in the First World. This is not a sight that one normally sees. Iâd have to say that I havenât seen this,â Philip Alston, the U.N.âs Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, told Connor Sheets of AL.comearlier this week as they toured a community in Butler County where âraw sewage flows from homes through exposed PVC pipes and into open trenches and pits.â
âSome might ask why a U.N. Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights would visit a country as rich as the United States,â Alston said. âBut despite great wealth in the U.S., there also exists great poverty and inequality.â
Alston also pointed out that the U.S. âhas been very keenâ on other countries being investigated by the U.N. for civil and human rights issues. âNow, itâs the turn to look at whatâs going on in the U.S.,â Alston said. âThere are pretty extreme levels of poverty in the United States given the wealth of the country. And that does have significant human rights implications.â
âThe idea of human rights is that people have basic dignity and that itâs the role of the governmentâyes, the government!âto ensure that no one falls below the decent level,â he said. âCivilized society doesnât say for people to go and make it on your own and if you canât, bad luck.ââ

yall hear about fucking hb2796
NO IâM FUCKING SERIOUS HAVE YâALL HEARD ABOUT FUCKING HB2796 WHICH LITERALLY FUCKING EXCLUDES TRANS PEOPLE FROM CIVIL RIGHTS LEGISLATION
Iâm going to keep fucking reblogging this
â No Federal civil rights law shall be interpreted to treat gender identity or transgender status as a protected class, unless such law expressly designates âgender identityâ or âtransgender statusâ as a protected class. â
@yall I see ignoring this please dont. I get it its upseting, but this is IMPORTANT information that could SAVE our lives and our rights.
Also this boils down to stripping rights away from intersex and trans ppl from what I understand, meaning that we would no longer be protected under federal law. This is scary. Call your reps and get this shut down as soon as you can. We can beat this together. We need each other right now. Share this, spread this information.
how you can help:
call your local senator and representatives! websites like 5calls tell you your national representatives based on your location and if you use their mobile site, you can call those representatives through their site. they donât yet have hb2796 on their site, but you can use their system regardless!
here is an example of something you can say: âMy name is (your name) and I am a constituent in (your town/city/district). Â I strongly oppose house bill 2796, which aims to remove gender identity protections from civil rights legislation by forcibly clarifying âgenderâ or âsexâ to indicate only a personâs assigned gender at birth. Transgender people require civil rights protections as a vulnerable part of our population, and it is extremely important to me that they receive those protections. Thank you for your time and attention.â
IF YOU LEAVE A VOICEMAIL: leave your street address to ensure your call is tallied!
when you call, they will not argue with you, and basically just tally how many people contact them on a certain issue. also, if you want to support other issues on the 5calls site, donât be afraid to make multiple separate calls! call volume matters and if you call more separate times it will be better.
Dammit I hate to use this blog for this but- from one trans guy to yall- this is important!
It looks like this bill isnât getting fast tracked and is actually going through the entire legislative process so keep at it!
