i love that despite the fact that they’re all wizards, ron and harry’s first response to trouble always seems to be punching

all i wanted was for this scene (harry reading lily’s letter) to be in hpdh movie :(

Harry’s heard the phrase, “You look like your father. Except the eyes. You have your mother’s eyes,” so often that he’s honestly sick of it. And then one day, a year or so after the war, he bumps into an unfamiliar woman in Diagon Alley. She looks at him and smiles warmly before saying, “You’re just like your mum.” Confused, he asks what she means, and she describes his eyes, his posture, his facial expressions, his walk. She says his physical features may be like his father’s, but his aura is just like his mother’s. And Harry beams, because he’s proud. The woman starts to walk away, and Harry calls out, “Who are you?” She smiles. “My name’s Mary Macdonald. Lily was one of my best friends.”

Okay but notice how this was one of Ron’s better moments in the film (him remembeing  where he heard Tom Riddle’s name) and they DELETED IT? This was a good, and important scene imo. Nope. Deleted.

the most romantic line in the whole harry potter series is “i have seen your heart and it is mine.” that shit is unbelievably dramatic. it sounds like something out of wuthering heights. it sounds like an agonized confession delivered in a thunderstorm from one conflicted lover to another, acknowledging the way their fatal flaws mirror yet complement each other, a desire to reflect and to perceive and ultimately to forgive. unfortunately, it is also spoken by horcrux locket tom riddle to ron weasley

I will never forgive the Harry Potter movies for being so reductive of Ron’s character.

5. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

everyone talks about “did you put your name in the goblet of fire” being the worst book to movie dialogue fail but lets be real the worst is where hermione answers a question in class and snape calls her an “insufferable know-it-all” and in the book ron is furious and he goes OFF and says “you asked a question and she knows the answer! why ask if you don’t want to be told?” but in the movies they just make him say “he’s got a point, you know” and i’m still mad about it

is anyone else’s favourite part of harry potter the daily grind of hogwarts life? when i’m watching the movies i always think they’re missing something and i just realised it’s the part of the book where they’re like chilling in the common room doing homework and all the birthday & christmas presents they get each other every book and dinners in the great hall and stuff
