Hey fishblr, question time. My bf wants to get a 29 gallon tank upgrade from our current 10g, but we’ve mostly been using distilled water for. Obvs getting 29 individual gall of distilled water would suck. Any lther suggestions for filling up a tank that big without bust running a hose from the kitchen?

Is your tap fish-safe if treated? If so, buy a bucket (if you don't already have one) and fill it up in your sink or bathtub. Measure and mark lines that say where one, two, three, etc gallons is in the tub. Then, treat the water and plop it into the tank. It sounds exhausting but you can take breaks. If your water isn't safe even with treatment, buy 5 gallon jugs at Winco or Walmart. They have cheap refill stations for distilled water that works well for my tanks. My well water isn't safe so I have to fill all of my large tanks using these jugs. It's a bother because I have to go to town all the time, and the jugs take a LOT of space. But it's still do-able.

Lower Himalayan Hillstream tank update! I did a major clean up and replanted a ton of Indian Water Fern that had been overwhelming the tank. Fish are looking happy and the Caridina babaulti seem to be breeding really well! I spotted 3 berried females while cleaning. Their color variation and color changing ability is just amazing to see when the shrimp are en mass.

I rearranged Paddington Tank. I had too many plants and too many unplanted stones.

Now I have one dedicated stone/wood for each plant… and even more plants 🤷‍♀️

I wanted a more jungle-y look and I am not 100% convinced, so I will end up rearranging or sell some plants I am not that fond of anymore.
