Nick's signature smirk turned to a grin when she 'Nicholas'd' him. "You should say that more often. Well, after giving it much thought... I went with 'hedonism'. May as well get straight to the point, don't you think? What did you end up going with? I'll only be a little heartbroken if it wasn't my name. It's in fate's hands."

"Give me a reason to and I will." She grinned, giving him a casual shrug. "Oh. Very fitting of you. I can see it. Well, not completely sorry to break your heart but you haven't earned me putting your name on that slip. I put something about making great memories. Didn't know you just left everything to fate. I thought you were a man of action."

"i'm the definition of trouble. debauchery and trouble go hand in hand with me" there was no point in lying about it. everyone knew who he was and his reputation of being said troublemaker preceded itself. "that's not how it works. it's all or nothing, winner takes all"

Was it confidence or just pride? "that how you want it to be or how it just happens to be?" not that it was her business but being noisy was kind of her thing. michelle pursed her lips, he was dramatic. "oh so you definitely want to stress him out. can't complain then, can you."

Dawson didn't consider himself a good guy. He was just usually honest; lying to get ahead in his career was one thing, but with people he dated, he tried to keep it above board. "Heartbreak definitely helps, but any strong emotion will do." A grin spread across his face as he looked at her.

Michelle gave him a soft snort, shaking her head. "Oh you are such a creative." It was far from an insult in her opinion. Hell, she could consider herself a creative too but she had never jumped on the heartbreak train. Though strong emotion, maybe he had a point.

Lili opened then promptly closed her mouth at Michelle's question. "I... I don't have time to date, Michelle." And she didn't. Did she really, before? Had her heart broken, sure. Made some pretty life ruining mistakes, yeah. Hooked up on a layover four months ago, yes, but that wasn't anyone's business! "I'm choosing to not choose, thank you. Anyway, why are we giving me the third degree? Are you dating?" Lili desperately wanted the spotlight off herself. "All notable qualities, sure. Uh huh...," she mused, unable to fight off a smile now. "Not Kamal, your brother's best friend, it is then."

Michelle clicked her tongue against her teeth. tsk. Didn't have time or didn't make the time? Well she had seen the type of people Lil guarded and honestly would believe both but that was a conversation to spread out so that Lili did not completely shut her down. "Oh fine. Sounds real miss independent so I'll take that choosing not to choose. Babe, it's not the third degree, I'm just genuinely interested in all parts of your life. Including your love life... Lack there of. Uhm. Dating? Well..." She trailed off, giving Lili a cheeky smile and a shrug. Okay she could admit that it sounded suspicious even to her own ears. "Oh shut up. Stop looking at me like that."

"You know that mom and dad will kill us if we don't make a big deal out of their wedding anniversary. They're going to want the big party, the gifts, the speeches... then two plane tickets the hell away from all of us." Spencer let out a louder-than-necessary sigh before adding, "Attendance non-negotiable." @michtheking

Us was certainly doing the heavy lifting in this conversation. "The big party isn't the issue, we can just hire an event planner, right. You and James can handle the plane tickets, superstar." She teased. "Hey, my birth was already the greatest gift they could get." She just... couldn't think of what their parents would want. Michelle shook her head, "You sure we can't just send them on vacation and be done?"

"look, i'm here because it's for the company. atticus runs this shit like ghost protocol, i have no concerns. i'm on best behaviour tonight, he doesn't need my ass stressing him out. it's the least i can do for him"

She raised a brow, tilting her head. "I don't know you like that so I can't judge you but how much of a troublemaker are you." Though she figured with a few days she could collect all the rumors about him. "Seems a little boring, surely you can have fun and not stress him out."

Lili rolled her eyes affectionately and proceeded to order Michelle's Cosmo for her and a - "Whiskey sour," she added to the bartender. "Whether I'm flexible or not, Cupid can take a hike. I'm not sure if I can think of anything worse, Michelle. It's bad enough when you've already seen their dating profile, and they turn out to be a major let down, never mind having almost no information. No offence to Logan, I'm sure it'll still be... fun." She took a long sip of her drink before quirking a brow, "Who's 'someone good' then?"

Her friend was such a liar. And Michelle knew that she was just good at wearing her down. The fact that Lil hadn't brushed her off yet had her beaming. She blew out a breath, "Damn, Cupid now has to do hard labor. Shame." Now how was she gonna hook Lili up with anyone if she was so adamant. "Babes.... do you date at all? I'll have enough fun for the both of us. Still, I'm now worried that you just choose terrible people and that's why you're disappointed." She shook her head, only pausing at Lili's question. "Someone good... huh. Nice, hot, generous, fun for sure. Or should I name people like, Kamal, not that I'm saying Kamal but, oh nevermind."

"I am not, I mean it's good for the art. Not saying I haven't done my own heartbreaking, but never on purpose. Guess it isn't usually for most people." Dawson smiled at Michelle; she was not what she expected to find at one of these Upper East Sider parties. If everyone he met tonight was half as fun as Michelle, he was in for a good time.

She would take his word for it, but there was also a little bit of doubt in her mind. Good guys existed, sure, but they weren't just casually around the UES like this. Michelle narrowed her eyes playfully, "next your gonna say that heartbreak makes the best art, aren't you?" Though who was she to judge if that was what people were in to.

Adriana was having a good night, something she rarely got, so she planned to make the best of it. She doubted she would find a real connection, but maybe she could have some fun and meet someone she didn't know too well.

A beautiful woman complimenting her was the best she was going to get, it seemed like. Not that she was complaining at all. If anything, maybe she would get a new friend or connection. "Please, your gown is gorgeous. I could not pull that off."

"I guess so, not a bad thing to assume, I think. Saved me from some heartbreak that I was probably not ready for." Dawson had a good college experience, just filled with the artistic types. He wanted to branch out now.

"Oh see, now I feel like you might be fucking with me. I simply cannot believe that you had experienced heartbreak. Then again, that's just my own stereotype." He seemed like a heartbreaker himself, smooth talking, seemingly in touch with his feelings. Though she wasn't sure where or who he had been running around with.

Cupid's Match

Well, she couldn't deny that she was excited. Regardless of who she ended up paired with, she was excited to see where the night would take them. Still, she hadn't been able to read much from Mrs. Hunter. Stepping into the room, the lack of noise clued her into the fact that there was no one there yet. Yet she didn't want to get too comfortable before her partner showed up.

"Oops," he repeated, shaking his head before grinning back at her. Michelle was always a wild card, he felt. Beautiful, of course. Sharp and deadlier than one might presume. "Well, you and I are nothing if not innocent," he smirked before letting out a delighted laugh at her proposition. "If you're going to be right about everything, I really should start listening to you more often. So, what do you want, Michelle?"

At least he was a good sport. Not many people could take her banter standing. Even less so could joke back about it like William. Then again, maybe it helped that they knew not to take everything too serious. She fought back a sound of surprise at his remark. "Exactly." Though she wasn't sure when he had joined her in the ranks of the innocent. "Gosh, those are some of my favorite words. Hmm, I want you to swear you'll grant me any wish and I'll just hold onto it until I need it."

"That doesn't like a compliment," Lili commented, fighting off a smile. She was always in awe of Michelle and her undying lust for life. There was something about her that drew you in and made you believe that some of her shine might rub off on you. It made you consider having more than one drink. "Two, maximum. That's my final offer, and Cupid can either take it or leave it. What would you like to drink, Michelle?" she asked, gesturing to the bar. "Oh, I have no doubt you'll achieve that, no problem. Did you, ah, play that match-up game?"

Well, it wasn't necessarily either or. "Well..." she grinned, letting it trail off with a shrug. They all meant well. Both her brothers and Lili as well but if only they would all jut join her on the fun train, then maybe they'd get her a bit more. She understood Lili's excuse. The woman was working and well, no one really knew how these sort of things would go. "Two? I'll take it. Cupid will just be happy you're flexible. I'll take - huh, I'll try a Cosmo tonight.. What are you having?" Two was better than one. It wasn't great but it was something. At least Lil, was indulging her a bit. "Absolutely. I'm crossing all my fingers for someone good. Don't tell me that you're sitting that out too?"

"Not even close, but for some reason, a lot of people think I should be. It was worse in college." More than once, he had been turned down just from looking at him.

Well she couldn't be sure why they would think that. "It's probably just their own assumptions of what a frat boy looks like." Though it was smarter to just ask someone rather than assume. Maybe they didn't even want to give him a chance.

Dawson knew she was probably right; most of the people in this room probably wouldn't be into most of his hobbies. He had dated a few people in New York, but if he was honest, that was out of boredom. "Not a frat boy mostly." He smiled at her.

"Are you a frat boy?" It was certainly a valid reason to try and present himself as not. Hell she didn't even know him, maybe he was a frat boy and was trying to pretend to be otherwise.

"Michelle, you wound me with the very implication I would ever be boring," Nick gasped dramatically, hand over his heart while his eyes never left her. "Admittedly, I did grapple with the cliché of putting my own name down as something I love. I suppose I might see you there, then?"

"My sincere apologies., Nicholas." She grinned, clearing her throat. Well the idea was taking self-confidence to a whole new level. It seemed like a great way to not end up with a pair. "And what did you end up putting on that little card anyway?" Michelle shrugged lightly, "I suppose that's a possibility."
