all these men want casual no strings attached relationships then wonder why they keep slipping into pits of like sorrow and intermittent depression in the moments they’re too sober. Like when all you’ve done is compartmentalize affection to the point where it’s just a transaction to you, or a point of maintenance you have to fulfill every few nights, you *will* suffer consequences. your heart *will* eventually feel heavy when you start to remember all your missed connections, and all the opportunities to feel genuine love for another person. like this sort of selfishness comes with a price, there’s like a debt to be paid here

i’m oscillating between dimensions y’all want anything

I’m one of those girls that uses lotions and creams and body butters every single day bc I love being soft and delicately well scented & every time I put some one I think of that one line in Gone Girl where Amy’s husband is like “and all of her lotioning. it was so annoying.” And I rub the lotion into my body with more vigor. what a damn and mean loser.

IF WE WANT THE REWARDS OF BEING LOVED WE MUST SUBMIT TO THE MORTIFYING ORDEAL OF BEING KNOWN!!!!

since the day I heard an older man say “relationships thrive when you are always trying to out-serve each other” I have never, ever forgotten it. relationships thrive when you are always trying to love the other person more than they love you. in every way. it’s so selfless. and it’s safe to be as selfless as possible because you know they are doing the same and there’s no doubt that you’ve got each other.
