If you're a member of the Hazbin Hotel fandom, more specifically the Murdermedia/radiostatic community, you most likely have heard about it's most popular fanwork 'The Rerun'.

And going on from this, you would have heard of it's recent discourses across multiple platforms - twitter, tumblr, tiktok etc. One of two things, the creator having been on hiatus for god knows how long and well, its confirmed use of ai.

"Oh but, how could this be?? There's no way of knowing!!"

Well thanks to our wonderful friend of the great Archive, user @heatedrivalryai on twitter released a Google document covering html code through source pages that reveals whether or not a 'author' used Claude AI in their works.

Upon a friend sending me this document, I had a look through its heavily detailed and correctly referenced reports and am to believe it is extremely accurate and reliable.

So running these tools through the fics source codes, i found over 1,000 uses of ai. Which is both horrible and disgusting to see, giving the large fanbase that this work has built, with hundreds of artists having given their time and REAL talents towards a project they deemed worthy of said skills.

An example of this would be Hazbin Hotel animator @silentzound, who made a post 24 hours ago about the upsetting news of the creator quitting. It is safe to assume that at this point in time, they were unaware of the ai 'allegations' and had only heard word on the creator deleting the work and quitting.

It is truly so upsetting to see posts like these, I know how it feels to see your favourite work be deleted and thrown away.

But other than the author - known as "Leech" on discord, quitting and deleting as much evidence of having existed in the first place, both I and a few anonymous people on discord have scrounged up information.

The first thing I would like to show for context is the message a mod left in the official rerun server (hosted by leech) that was named "Jonestown if it was good". A, that is a disgusting name and I had no idea what it had meant until recently. And B, I was never very active in said server, and only used it as a announcement channel for when updates were released / discussion on said new chapters.

So i know very little to none about what happened between leech, the moderators and the active members. All information I have is from a second-hand source of a small gathering who got together after the crisis of server members being suspended before being banned. I was told that he and his mods (a common one being 'clowncat') made crude comments with and towards minors, allowed his members/mods to racially profile members, as well as 'acting like a total dick' to everyone due to his 'personality.' Again, i have no substantial proof for this other than people's word.

A conversation I and another were having after the big announcement (which i will show soon) before both being suspended. (theyre here TO SILENCE ME ToT)

At this point in time, the ai usage were still allegations and no one had left substantial evidence. We were focused on the leech's announcement left through a moderator.

From this, there are many conclusions that can be drawn. Three key points:

continuing to lie about the ai allegations knowing damn well you used it. just admit to your faults?? WHY continue to lie.

and of course, what a coincidence that you quit the same time period as the allegations arising??

Whilst this report should remain not, I will become bias in the fact that the usage of ai in fanworks should not be condoned nor supported, whether the 'author' is open about it or not. And, if you DO use it, do not claim the work as your own. Yes, it was your idea to prompt the AI in the first place, but you did not craft for hours therefore it is not yours. Simple enough, no?

Apparently not for the great minded Leech, who has not been heard from other than deleting his server. (not the fic yet, surprisingly.)

After this announcement of removing himself from the fandom and community, he went on to say that he wishes to still join other servers and talk with the people. HELLO????

As I previously said, I never spoke with any of these people and therfor do not know how close leech was with them, but it seems a bit egotistical of the sorts considering his past with being a total asshole. (which i will cover more on his past once i wrap up this ai bullshit)

Basically, if you weren't convinced enough already, I myself ran the given html codes to cement substantial proof of AI usage with Claude.

Whilst this method will not work for all AI using fics, neither will it be much use in the future as 'authors' will start to find ways around it, it is extremely useful for pre-existing works.

Okay! So we have a basic idea now - Leech used Ai ro write a fanwork, got caught, ditched really weirdly and unprofessionally, and now everyone is tryna pick up the scraps!

Well would you believe me if I said this wasn't the... first time this has happened... in a way, that is.

See after doing spme discussing with friends/acquaintances of Leech's, I found out that he apparently wrote the third most popular Gravity Falls fanwork for its time. Take this with a grain of salt, as people can be wrong/misleading, and that last thing i want to do... is spread misinformation!! (hah. get it. okay fuck you.)

According to what information I have, in a previous point of time, (no dates im sorry im a bum) Leech had a similar community and situation that he has now - huge, famous fanwork, server and fan space on discord with fans he hated, and going on hiatus before ditching.

I tried my hardest to search for this fanwork and for more evidence of it being true, but as a newbie to the shittalking-people-with-proof, i was unlucky. like i said, do not take this as factual, but more so something to consider when approaching your viewpoint on leech.

For now, I believe i have addressed everything I had wished to talk about. I talk a lot, wanted to talk a lot, and am also a nobody who just felt like they needed to well, talk about it.

I am HOPING that this post gets even a little bit of traction, as i really enjoy piecing together things like this, given the opportunity.

In summary, The Rerun fanwork on Archive of Our Own has been proven to be AI Generated using Claude AI, with the creator known as Leech having quit in a confusing way.

Repeated phrases: Find the multi-word phrases that recur throughout your draft. (For phrases containing up to six words.)

Dialogue balance: Calculate how much of your writing is dialogue vs. narration (and see the difference via the dialogue highlight toggle).

Point of view: See how many sentences are written from each perspective (and make extra-sure you didn’t accidentally switch halfway through!). First, second or third - you can highlight them all in your text.

Punctuation habits: See how often you use ✨expressive✨ punctuation marks per 1,000 words?!!!?!! (Yes!)

Get down ‘n’ dirty with your style (and the choices that make your voice yours, all yours). We wish you luck wrangling those phrases that jumpscare you when you discover you’ve used them 13 times in the same draft!

Regrets

Musical "Soulmate" idea where each demon in Hell arrives transformed by a mask that's seamlessly affixed to their face.

The only way to remove the mask and make their demonic forms just that, another form they can take, is by finding their heart song.

(Think Majora's Mask-esq transformations)

One piece of music that resonates perfectly with the frequency of their soul and often only found by interacting with a specific person that is meant to hold significance in the demon's life.

Over time this"significance" was extrapolated to mean "Soulmate".

Removing the mask returns the soul to its original human-looking state. Doing so around another person is a dangerous, but remarkable display of trust.

Unmasking in this sense would one day be considered major evidence of growth and potential redemption by the Princess of Hell.

Alastor despises the entire system. "Soulmates", Redemption, willingly becoming a weak, defenseless human again? No Thanks.

Besides, as the Radio Demon, he'd been exposed to thousands of music tracks. If anyone could find this so-called heart song on their own, it would be him.

And once he did, Alastor would wipe it from the airwaves forever.

Ooh I love this!

Pentious's soul song is 'it starts with sorry', and the moment he starts singing along his mask comes off.

Vox also had his mask come off, by singing the original 'stayed gone' with Alastor on the piano ala the Sparks Duo print, and it's made him more obsessive over him - especially because Alastor HASN'T removed his mask. This whole thing also made Alastor even more scornful and suspicious of 'soulmates' and the hearts song and determined to destroy it.

Angel gets his with Loser Baby.

(Carmilla had hers with Zestial and her daughters a while ago, and takes her mask off when she's with them.)

Lucifer, despite being an angel, is also a sinner, and his song is more then anything, and he got it the first time with Lilith and a second time with Charlie.

When he takes his mask off, he becomes the golden angel again, and he only does it with his wife and daughter.

Vaggie, funnily enough, is NOT a sinner, despite having 'fallen', and so has no mask - but if she did, it would have come off with her more then anything reprise.

velvette goes to the hotel reluctantly to find alastor because she knows they have history to see if he knows how to fix this and val is preoccupied trying to find out wtf is wrong with vox

alastor goes to vee tower in secret because he thinks velvette is lying abt vox losing all his memories of like the past 70 years in hell and he just wants to yk... check in with vox and then he realizes velvette is not lying and alastor realizes "lol I can lie to this dude about everything and he's totally believe me" shenanigans ensue because alastor manipulates him blah blah maybe they even make a deal because his agreement with rosie is different now blah blah

I like the lyrics I feel like it fits; Vox is so in love with Al it kills him, he should hate him for being strung along and having his emotions so easily manipulated. Yet he still tries to get close, to reach out. And still he waits for Al to make a move, to send a sign, that maybe it’s not unrequited.

Okay, so this is just for fun because I think these two having a million and one ship names is hilarious, so I decided to put them all in one post to 1) have a collective list to refer back to 2) have an actual number of ship names dedicated to these two psychos. Without further ado, here's all the ship names and their dynamics!

Voxal - Everything under the sun, EARLY days shipping, standard ship name

Radiostatic - Official flag ship name, also everything under the sun for them, but also leans more on mutual obsession; whatever their weird rivalry is.

Staticradio - It's just radiostatic but flipped around; still general vibe of whatever the fuck they've got going on.

Radiosilence - One sided pining from Vox, Alastor does not reciprocate.

Onewaybroadcast - Technically just radiosilence, there was once a pull on twitter where fans apparently did vote for this to be the ship name? But oddly, it didn't catch on. Then the Radio Silence book community got really upset we were flooding their tag, so there was a resurgence of trying to push out this ship name as an attempt to detach from their tag... it didn't really work (sorry guys, but that's why we don't put a space in radiosilence!)

Staticsilence - Alastor is the one with the unrequited feelings/obsession and Vox doesn't care for Alastor.

Staticlovetune - Mutual romantic dynamic, fluff, reciprocated feelings, both of them are in love; wholesome couple vibes.

Freakquency - Matching each other's freak, mutual kinky deranged dynamic (like vore).

Murdermedia - Human Alastor and Human Vox specifically. Basically radiostatic but human AU!

Lostmedia - Past radiostatic specifically, before their falling out! So vintage Box Vox! (We'll probably want to put Hazbin in front of it for tagging purposes)

Sparks Duo: This another name for Past radiostatic, in commemoration for the legendary "Sparks" print drop by the amazing @silentzound!

Lostsignal - This one is a little unclear to me if it's the OG-OG designs (little brown munchkin Vox and Zoophobia Alastor) or if it's Pilot versions of radiostatic? I've seen this tag be used for either or.

As for explanation, I’m really sensitive to antiblackness. I live in a racist country that piles ailments on me. If I’m choosing to give time, money, care, n love in a space, I NEED to know the space condemns antiblackness. It’s a priority for my health and wellness

If a concern for antiblackness has not been addressed and condemned, I don’t feel secure in the space.

And I have not seen messages in this space that reassure me, which has since taken the wind out of my sails

Also, the lens of how I analyzed the media was under an impression that the material is written through a carefully considered intersectional, queer perspective. This was the main selling point for me personally, but I’m not certain if my perception was accurate

Which is ok btw! The artists should be able to do as they please, it is art! And I don’t mind being wrong about something lol, that’s life. It could be that my first impression is actually correct, but the uncertainty is too troublesome for me to contend with

So, I haven’t been inspired to draw anything. All I do is seek joy in my time off of work. If I can’t find it in one place, I try to find it elsewhere. Simple as that. Honestly, idk for sure if that loss of enthusiasm is permanent, I just know how I feel now.

And my heart doesn’t beat the way it used to.
