1) Anyone who’s jumping on the bandwagon of clowning us for not drafting a goalie without being a fan of this franchise is going on my doneso list. This doesn’t apply to sirens fans we can clown on our own team all we want I love you guys

2) I’m focusing on who we DID draft! And I’m excited to cheer on our new Yalies (we’re building an army I love the New Haven Sirens)! I’m excited to cheer on Katelyn Roberts! I’m excited to see all the ways these rookies fit here, and I am really optimistic that they will. I want to know who you’re excited about. BECAUSE….

3) I will take questionable goaltending over sacrificing team identity any day. The New York Sirens have shown with their draft picks that we are committed to hard-nosed, physical hockey. Look at the quotes from our new rookies, when you get a chance. They are all aware they’ve been drafted for toughness. I’d rather know who we are than have a goalie new to the PWHL just because everyone else is drafting one (or taking ours) (which happened two years in a row) (in addition to like half our roster by now).

4) Also. With this draft class, it was almost guaranteed that we were going to draft another person riding for conservative causes. It pisses me off. We don’t need to love it or normalize it or even ignore it. AND…we have to take care of each other right now. My activism has never started nor ended with consumption of professional sports, and I am believing yours doesn’t either. Let’s find another way to support trans people rather than just booing people or calling people by weird nicknames (they don’t give a shit and it feeds into persecutory delusions LOL). Seriously. Let’s take care of each other rn.

5) I will end by again talking about team identity. I know who the New York Sirens are. Do you know who your team is? Because we know who we are and how we want to play, and we’ve built that identity in spite of being beaten down on expansion for two years and finishing last or second last. That’s wild. We are tough and we are gritty and we play hard and we teach our rookies to play hard. We draft players who say proudly that they want to play that way. We know what kind of hockey we want to play. We know that when we draft or trade or otherwise sign people now, that we are doing so with a mutual knowledge of the game we are playing.

Sirens never say die. Wouldn’t want to be a fan of any other team, not even close.

i am pro transgender! trans women deserve to play and even trans men in this league (if they wish to). i do think the t-men should go to the nhl, but seeing as that is unlikely, having them here is better than not playing at all. trans players are not your enemy, and they sure arent mine
