Hey, my art teacher is super kind and all but one thing she said to me about my art broke me. We had to do a still life and even though i didnt put in the recommended time i still put in some hours working on this, also it was in a media i was not used to (only have used a few times aka about twice). what my teacher said was "It looks like you did this in 10 minutes". How am I supposed to react to that? They did tell me what i needed to change but that comment really hurt.

The thing about new media, especially new to you media, is it takes time to perfect. However, when you didn’t put in the recommended time, it was apparently obvious to your teacher that you did not put in the amount of time you probably should have to meet the criteria. Part of being an artist is being able to handle critique and criticism. In the end, she’s one teacher. Go make more art, go practice, take a class with another art teacher. Play with the media more, practice more at home, try again. Don’t get heartbroken over one comment. Move on! new art! new horizons!
