Headcanons that probably matter and verses:
HEADCANONS
-> Currently using the alias Arsenal
-> Has his canonical adhd
-> They’ve retconned his age so much it’s confusing, but he’s around Dick’s age, which means only a couple years older than Jason, so it’s not weird. Don’t make it weird. I’ve been writing him at around 25.
-> Roy is a pansexual mess who will flirt with anyone of age who breathes, but he’s also fiercely loyal, so if you can look past that you’ve got a goofy friend for life.
-> After Amanda Waller faked her death and stole her, raising her to be a warrior, Lian is back as a teenager now who kept getting portalled around, and received training from Catwoman too.
-> His romantic thing with Cheshire is over, but he still co-parents with her and acts as civil as he can for their daughter’s sake.
-> He was raised by Brave Bow before Ollie, so he has that Diné (Navajo) background/heritage and tattoo that signifies he’s part of their family still. (Traditionally body markings are actually taboo to Navajo, but DC made this canon so I’m sticking to it. I was calling it ‘Navajo’ because it is the English term since I’ve seen online spaces with members using the term themselves, not to be disrespectful, but going forward Roy will refer to it as Diné.) He speaks the language and has taught Lian.
-> He is a recovering addict. He will not drink or do drugs with your muse, and if he does that means he needs help. Killer Croc (Waylon Jones) is still his sponsor.
-> Lost his arm, quite poetically, in a fight with @mank1ndsbadhab1t of all people, like the addict he is.
-> I’ve read everything I can find involving Roy, including wfa, so he’s a mix of different DC canons with those backgrounds when needed.
✨ VERSES ✨
-> Lore
-> Hellverse: verse with @john-brendan-knowles. Roy and John are now married. Donna has also claimed him in an Amazonian ritual as her lover. Due to time spent in Hell after Lian’s “death,” he is 34 there, but still looks mid twenties since he has demonic blood and ages slower. And he has wings thanks to Raven! Lian is back and a teenager now after shenanigans with Waller.
-> Starbird: verse with @gothams-star-seeker and @wally-is-fast @jason-is-alive. He’s on good terms with Jade in this verse too. Roy is also currently a werewolf.
-> Lostarrow: a universe in which Jade never told Roy about Lian, and he’s only just met her as a teenager. Navigating trying to get to know his daughter while having unresolved feelings about Jade.
-> Merlyn: in this verse, Roy was raised and trained by Malcolm Merlyn instead of Oliver Queen. In fact, he killed the Ollie of that universe to claim his title as best archery marksman. He also spent some time with the League Of Assassins there and is an active enemy of the Titans. He’s known as the Dark Archer, a title Merlyn gave him. He was never an addict in this world and was raised Catholic. (I will, on occasion and by request, write Jason in this verse too, [ @outlawknighted ] and Dick.)
-> Coming Soon (hit up my inbox if interested!)
I tag posts to keep track of them, not to set anyone apart as special, so don’t read too much into it!

“Keep that up and we won’t be on patrol for long,” he chuckled. “But no, nothing specific tonight. Just a few blocks where shit usually goes down that we can watch. 90% of patrol is boring.”
"maybe i can make it less boring~" she smirked, she didn't care about helping people but she knew Roy liked to use slow nights to spend some time alone together out in their elements
He took them downtown to the clock tower, climbing the fire escape up. He pulled a tool from his belt and picked the lock easily enough and led the way in, turning back to offer her his hand. It gave them a gorgeous view of the sunset and the city. “How’s this?”
Jason looked over from the chair at the Batcomputer. “Dickie isn’t here right now. Neither is Bruce. If you’re looking for either of them. Think Dickie went back to Blüdhaven and Bruce went back out on patrol. I am finishing a case report. You can wait here if you want. I can get Alfred to bring tea or something Roy.” The boy kept typing a way at his case report. (From @jaybinlad )
Roy smiled just a bit, because the kid was, if nothing else, dedicated. “You know you’re allowed to take a break, right? Do something fun instead?” He said it like he was teasing, but he meant it too. He worried about B driving another Robin to their breaking point.
Jason paused again. Maybe he just hadn’t had many friends. He didn’t see the appeal to staying somewhere you hated. He was greatful Bruce never forced it.
“Maybe you should tell them to be nicer. I have a feeling they need you more than you need them. Much like they need Wally more than he needs them. Hell they need Dick and Donna more than Dick and Donna need them.” He offered.
“I guess I could,” Roy replied. “I’d never considered that an option before.” They’d made him feel low, dirty, and used for being an addict. He’d just assumed he deserved it.
But that was more Ollie’s doing than any of the Titans.

"Ohh talkin' to tha' cookies I see," she smirked. Readjusting the bag on her arm she studied his posture and took a hunch that his bad side was the one he leaned on. Cautiously she moved in putting her hands over his shoulders for a hug.
"Missed a good fight but gotta say ya' kinda made up for it. I ugh... got some stuff for sandwiches if ya' like? But fill me in... who did ya' go out to fight? "
He closed the door behind her and offered to help her with what she was carrying. “Always so thoughtful,” Roy told her with gratitude.
“Oh just a gang that specializes in knife fighting,” he joked in answer. “My body armor has few weaknesses, but my sides are vulnerable to close knife attacks if you know what you’re doing with it.”
Harley slightly blushed at the compliment, as she was use to being praised only to receive a backhanded slur that made her question if what she did was worth it.
" I know my way around a blade. So what we talkin' butterfly knives or ya' go up against some ninja shit? I like ta' know how south things go," she said before catching his eyes.
" I guess lucky fa' you I have a minor in sports medicine. Sadly not armor smithin' but you would have to be able to twist yer' torso. 'En pulling back yer' bow most likely hurts like hell."
”It definitely doesn’t feel great,” he told her taking off his shirt and pealing back the bandage so that she could see the wound he’d stitched himself. The stitching was well done, a testament to how often he’d had practice over the years, on himself, on others.
“No ninja shit this time, just old fashioned knives,” he told her. “I should have seen it coming, but I got arrogant.”
She could see he was putting on a face for her. Side gashes were never fun.
" Slightly easier being a chick. Makes injuries like that tha' reason corsets are oh so fun to wear for healin' up," Harley smirked before getting a closer look.
"Mmm.. guess you really don't me lick wounds. This is.. pretty good. 'En no offense I like a smart ass. Sure you might have ta' learn a lesson here 'en there but... I like tha' banter. Lucky its' jus' this 'en not bruised ribs as well."
Giving his stomach a pat she looked beyond him and went to take in the space. "So this is home? "
" I had ta' question what does tha' reservation and then rich pent house guy live. Stark differences, but nah it's really nice. A lil bare but hey who has time to decorate if yer' on the go. Only reason I got so much shit is well most people think my place is haunted. Tha' other half jus' go for business 'en get tha' hell out."
“I mostly just sleep here,” he confessed. “I train at other safehouses that are better designed for it, and I’m out there more than I’m ever here,” he told her, realizing all at once he probably worked too hard.
He waved a bit as he made his way over. It felt odd to be out in civilian clothes still, so he’d made sure he was armed covertly, but given how she’d been raised he didn’t think she’d mind if she noticed.
"Youll get the hang of it eventually. Just dont mess with the wrong people" she turned to go inside expecting her dad to follow. Inside it was clearly a mom and pop restaurant, there was maybe one or two other people there. She sat at a table
“Yeah I guess that kind of…work, takes you all over,” Roy replied, frowning. “She doesn’t…I mean, she probably killed in front of you knowing her, but she doesn’t make you participate does she?” What kind of childhood would that be? And Jade wanted to judge him?!
"i mean i come with her and i help out where i can but she doesnt usually let me finish a job like that." she shrugged and fidgetted with the knife on the table "Sometimes things happen though."
"I like it," she didnt really know any other life to go off of other than the movies and some people she saw on the street but they all seemed boring "its not like youve never killed anyone right?"
“But you’re just a kid. How could she ever…” he sighed. He didn’t want to be that guy—the one that bad mouthed his kid’s mom. “I’ve killed to survive. Not for money,” he clarified.
"So have I, Mom doesn't let me finish jobs like I said. Sometimes though," she flicked her own head "LazFreak gets out. Thats why I got benched, among other reasons"
“I’m sorry that’s all you’ve ever known,” he told her. He wasn’t judging, he was relating. He’d been Ollie’s attack dog the same way she seemed to have been weaponized by Jade.
“It’s good to have allies, and I have a lot of them. If they learned you were my daughter, the help would extend to you too,” Roy explained. “But that was stupid of me. I’m sure you have your own connections.”
“I’m sorry. I wish I could have given you a different life away from all of the killing. Unfortunately it’s what your mom and I are good at, but I would have changed for you,” he explained. “Civilian life isn't so bad.”
“I don’t want to be the kind of man that speaks ill of your mother to you, but she robbed us both,” he acknowledged. “All we can do now is decide what the road going forward looks like. I want to be there for you if you want that.”
“I was stating a fact,” Roy pointed out. Gods he was so tired of these people assuming shit about him. “And literally said I didn’t plan to,” which he thought was big of him, all things considered, “so the threat isn't necessary.”
He sighed, relaxing just a bit—he hadn’t wanted to fight his daughter. “I don’t know you yet,” and it killed him, “or what she told you about me. I don’t know what to expect.”
Right, so nothing he was saying mattered and she’d made up her mind. Fantastic. Now he had to live up to her expectations to be good just as much as everyone else’s, and Roy was just tired.
“Sure if you want to look at it like that, but my hero friends wouldn’t agree.”
Right, how much did he share here? Jade had probably already told her, so it wasn't like he’d disappoint her more by revealing, “I’m a recovering heroin addict. Started when I was a little younger than you are now, and my friends have never forgiven me, even though it was never about them. What few stuck around sort of abandoned me after your mom and I met.” Because of his affiliation with her.
“Anyway, I put down predators that can’t be rehabilitated and they take issue with that too,” he explained. “A junkie who occasionally kills people just doesn’t you invited to join very many teams.”
“I nearly did, but my step mom and her friend helped me through it. Detox was….rough, and they didn’t abandon me,” he said, thinking back to how much Dinah and Hal had helped him, even if Ollie and the Titans hadn’t.
“So you see, as much as I wish I was the clean cut hero your mom has told you I am, I’m really not,” he told her with a slight frown. “If I ever really was.”
“Well they also frown on my killing,” he told her. He usually reserved it for the worst of the worst, but it had driven a wedge between himself and the respective teams of heroes in his life.
“I am the world’s best marksman,” he acknowledged. “But I’m far from perfect or better than anyone else. If you’ve seen paparazzi clips they're an act, that false confidence is just as much of a mask as my actual domino.”
“I enjoy playing stealth missions, which you also seem to hate,” Roy told John. “What are you currently playing, if anything?” he asked Jason, endlessly curious.
John was red like a tomato. He didn't often blush that much, but Jason's voice and the way he was looking at him and touching him made it impossible not to blush.
"all i did was lick up some blood from his arm and he was giving up right underneath of me, practically begging for me to fuck him hard. Isn't that right Johnny?"
It was so unfair how hard he was because of them. John just whined and shifted in his seat. His pants were getting uncomfortable.
We were fighting Dex and the asshole bit me and they fought me together and Jason pinned me to the floor and licked the blood... what did you expect? Of course I begged...
He mumbled against Roy's neck, moving closer to him.
Roy’s hands were all over his husband, fingertips pressing to his back where his shirt rode up just a bit, but his green eyes focused on Jason. And he wore a pleased smirk. “I may need a demonstration to really get the picture.”
I see you shoot and its like im doing something completely different... there's just something I dont get... im honestly in awe when I look at you work, you make it look like an art
“You should have seen me when I first started,” he chuckled. “A silly kid trying so hard to be like Green Arrow. Brave Bow had endless patience when he taught me.”

John moved his hand from the back of Roy's neck to his hair.
Your hair has gotten long... do you want me to cut it again?
He asked, looking at it to see how long it truly was. While john liked his longer hair, he knew why he kept it short and he respected, he only whined about it every so often.
Roy offered him a grateful smile as he sat down at the table and pulled up the news on his phone. He wanted to be sure nothing major was going on if he was taking a night off.
Dont hunt squirrels today, I dont want to be covered in their blood or have to clean you up
John told him as he followed Roy to put on shoes. He checked out his husband's ass because it was right there in front of him and he couldn't and wouldn't help it.
“That sounds like an amazing way to spend the day,” Roy told him. He chuckled though, shaking his head as he teased, “Babe you’d think watching me brush my teeth is hot.”
They walked to the park and then to the secluded area where Roy stashed his bow. Dex hadn't stopped jumping around them for even a second with how excited he was.
Dex ran incredibly fast after the arrow and caught it. He tried not to break them so Roy could reuse them, but most often than not, that didn't happen.
John smirked.
If you did that Dex would bite me for distracting you. But its okay, you're wearing a sleeveless shirt, its good enough
Then he made appear a beach chair, those that recline, and sat on it, just looking at Roy and Dex playing.
“You’re so easy to please, babe,” Roy teased him as he fired another arrow. “I talked to Lian about maybe getting her a kit to learn how to tattoo by the way. Since she’s a talented artist I thought she might want to give it a shot, so these arms may be covered in practice tattoos soon.” Because of course he’d let her practice on him.
“I think that’s because she’s so used to not having a lot, so gifts feel wrong almost. I went through that when I first moved in with Ollie too,” Roy explained. “Eventually the guilt lessens and it gets easier.”
“You tired yet?” he teased Dex, picking the arrows up.
“I know you do,” Roy gave him a fond smile before turning to fire another couple arrows for Dex. “Beneath your rough exterior you're actually a really sweet guy.”
Dex ran and tried to catch all of them at once, but he wasn't that fast. He was really enjoying it tho, like he always did when they all went out together. Only thing missing was Lian and his family would be complete. He brought all the arrows back to Roy and waited.
By the way, that reminds me, I bought you something
John stood up and handed Roy a neatly wrapped box. Inside there were combat boots like the ones he usually wore, but these ones were new and had pride laces.
We didn't go to pride like we wanted, life usually gets in the way, so I wanted to buy you something pride related. And your oldest boots are more dead than alive so you only have one pair and I figured youd want another one but youd never buy it for yourself
Dex pawed at Roy when he stopped firing arrows since he'd gotten distracted by John. He was impatient and had too much energy that he never got to spend while on earth.
“You’re so fucking thoughtful,” Roy leaned over to kiss him, a kiss cut short by Dex’s interruption. “He was being all romantic and shit,” he told the hound with a happy laugh, “but okay. A few more.”
He pulled away from John to fire the arrows, but once they were flying he turned and leaned in to kiss him properly.
John grabbed the bow and shot two back to back arrows just like his husband had taught him. He had known how to shoot before meeting him, but he got good only thanks to Roy.
Maybe you should give me more lessons... I cant be married to the best archer in the world and be just adequate
He remembered when they went to Oliver's cabin in the woods and Roy taught him. John remembered putting on the Arsenal suit as a surprise after and how much his husband had liked it. They didn't do much archery after that.
Roy reached for one of the arrows, moving to stand behind John with his arms around him. He helped him draw the bow and aim it. “Confidence. You're good. Own it.” He kissed at his husband’s neck before firing the arrow.
Im not as good as you... I dont thats even possible
A part of him, after firing a single arrow, got nervous when Roy was looking. He was so much better in ways john didn't even understand and while he wanted to impress his husband, his nerves usually got the better of him. It also didn't help how hot roy was with a bow in hand.
John moved his hand from the back of Roy's neck to his hair.
Your hair has gotten long... do you want me to cut it again?
